THE STORY BEHIND THE RR340 MOUNTAIN BIKE

This mountain bike was fully designed and developed at the B'Twin Village (Lille, France) and is the brainchild of an expert team of mountain bike enthusiasts. To give beginner mountain bikers the lightness and ease of use they need, the team got beginners involved at every stage of design, construction, and testing for the RR340. Whether it's for riding alone, with friends, or as a family, users have approved the RR340 as being really fun to ride!

        A UNISEX MOUNTAIN BIKE

The RR340 mountain bike is designed for men and women alike. The RR340's frame has been carefully designed right down to the smallest detail, from the top tube's relatively pronounced slope, to the broad range of sizes (XS: 4'9" to XL: 6'5") and the low weight to suit both men and women. To make the most of the improved comfort, the women of the Rockrider team recommend the 500 Women's Sports saddle that is adapted to women's body shape.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE RR340

Several sizes available: XS: between 1.45 m and 1.50 m S: between 1.51 m and 1.65 m M: between 1.66 m and 1.75 m L: between 1.76 m and 1.80 m XL: between 1.81 m and 1.95 m Do you weigh more than 90 kg? For your comfort and safety, "double-walled" rims (more durable) are a good idea. The Rockrider ST100 mountain bike will be even better for you.

        A LIGHT, EFFECTIVE FRAME

To get the most out of your pedalling, the Rockrider 340's frame is made from 100% aluminum. Aluminum combines durability and a low weight. Its sloping geometry makes it easier for both women and men to mount.

FRONT SUSPENSION FOR CUSHIONING LUMPS AND BUMPS

The Suntour XCT 80 mm front suspension is designed for slightly uneven trails and helps you overcome your first obstacles with no worries. Its design, based on a mechanical spring, is reliable and easy to maintain. You can also easily adjust the stiffness using a dial.

        REAR SUSPENSION: NONE

This mountain bike has no rear suspension. It is a "semi-stiff" mountain bike: ideal for beginners. The benefit when compared with a full suspension bike (with rear suspension) is clear: it weighs much less so you waste less energy on flat terrain. A "semi-stiff" bike, such as the RR340, is therefore a good choice for your first rides!

DERAILLEUR & DRIVE TRAIN: CHANGE CHAINRING AND COG

3 x 7 speed chainwheels, 21 speeds total! 2 easy-to-use grip shifters on the handlebars. Left (chainrings): control ascents/descents. Right (speeds): more precise control over your pedalling. In detail: -Triple 22-, 32- and 42-tooth chainring + protection/grease -Shimano TZ30 or MICROSHIFT MS22 front derailleur -Shimano TY500 rear derailleur -SRAM MRX21 grip shifters with speed indicator -Shimano TZ21 7-cog, 14- to 28-tooth cassette -Wide, sturdy KMC Z51 chain

STEM, HANDLEBARS, GRIPS: FOR GOOD HAND POSITIONING

With a stem that tilts 10° upwards, the RR340 gives you a raised, accessible, comfortable riding position. In detail: 90 mm (in sizes XS, S and M) or 110 mm (in sizes L and XL) aluminum stem with an angle of 10° for maximum comfort - 620 mm wide steel handlebars, for stability and control -"Soft touch" grips for a firm yet soft and pleasant grasp.

        SADDLE: SIT COMFORTABLY!

Your comfort is our top priority, which is why we offer the exclusive, wider Ergofit saddle, with a special "hammock" shape. Easily adjust the height of your saddle with the 350mm-long, 29.8mm-diameter seat post.

        V-BRAKES: CONTROL YOUR BRAKING

Two V-Brake pads for effective braking. These brakes are composed of calipers that exert more or less pressure on the rim to slow or stop the rotation of the wheels. Thanks to the special design of the RR340's aluminum brake levers, you only need two fingers to brake.

26" WHEELS & TIRES FOR DRY GROUND: READY TO ROLL?

Push off easily on trails with your RR340 mountain bike and its light 26-inch single-walled wheels. To keep these wheels sturdy, our engineers have given them 36 spokes! Because your first rides will be on dry terrain, the DRY 26 x 2.0 tires are the most suitable. Their performance has been optimized thanks to a faster central section, while their side lugs offer excellent traction in turns.

        FLAT PEDALS

The Rockrider 340 mountain bike comes with flat mountain bike pedals made from hard resin for a lighter weight and greater safety. If your foot slides on the pedal, there's less risk of injury.

EASILY TRANSPORT AND STORE YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE

At ROCKRIDER, we know that not all rides start on your doorstep or right outside the store. You might need to transport or store your bike in a confined space (car trunk, porch, etc.). To make it easier to mount/remove your front wheel, we've equipped it with a quick-release system. There is a nut at the back to secure the bike and limit the risk of theft. You will need a wrench to remove the back wheel.

        WEIGHT

14.5 kg in size XS without pedals. 14.8 kg in size S without pedals. 14.85 kg in M without pedals. 15.0 kg in size L without pedals. 15.2 kg in size XL without pedals.

        ACCESSORIES

Your BMX RR340 comes with a derailleur guard, chainwheel protection (to prevent dirt getting on your clothes), bells, lights, wheel reflectors, and pedals. The frame is compatible with: - Front and rear fenders - Stand - Bottle cage - Saddlebag - Rear pannier rack - Child seat etc.

        COMFORT & SAFETY

We recommend that beginners wear cycling shorts with a pad (foam in the shape of a saddle) or a gel saddle cover to reduce soreness. For longer rides, remember to take something to drink (e.g.: a hydration backpack or bottle). In all circumstances, even for a short ride, wearing a helmet is essential!

how long is it going to take for more sizes to be in strore
        Response of the brand
Thank you for your question regarding this bike. This is an end of line bike which is no longer produced. Only limited sizes are now available. It has been replaced by the ST 100 MTB which has 27.5" wheels, double walled rims and an all new frame.

        Buckled wheel
Louise (United Kingdom) Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Got this bike for my son for Christmas. First outing on it went off a kerb and the wheel buckled. I have never in my lifetime of cycling heard of a bike wheel buckling on a kerb. This is called a rock rider mountain bike but can’t even handle obstacles on a normal road. I will be contacting decathlon with regards to replacement wheels or a refund.
        Response of the brand
I'm sorry to read that there was an issue with the wheel. This is the link to the customer team who will be able to assist you with a replacement, repair or a refund: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/en/contactUsWithoutAccount
