A shoe designed for fitness and race walking
Stop walking in your running shoes!
Biomechanical studies carried out by Decathlon have allowed us to pinpoint the foot’s specific needs during fitness walking. We studied the foot’s angle of contact, centre of pressure trajectory, and propulsive force.
As a result, this shoe’s materials, sole geometry and upper are ideally suited for fitness and race walking.
What is the Heel Roll concept?
The Heel Roll concept is a special sole geometry where the rear external part of the heel is raised and rounded.
Studies conducted by the Decathlon SportsLab showed that when fitness walking, as the foot hits the ground, it tilts back, then forward, and from side to side.
We created the Heel Roll geometry to naturally guide and stabilize this movement.
Composition of the sole
The sole has 4 elements:
- Shank plate: Absorbs shock waves at the heel push-off and spreads them toward the forefoot for better propulsion.
- EVA foam (white): Provides cushioning.
- Kalensole EVA foam (orange): Provides cushioning, energy return, and better stability. Durable up to 1,000 km.
- Rubber: Provides better grip.
Non-marking
The non-marking sole won’t scuff your floors.
Removable insole
Removable insole for quick drying. Can also be replaced with an orthopaedic insole.
