TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Waterproofing 1/2

We measure the water resistance of a fabric in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure a fabric can withstand, the more waterproof it is.
The anorak’s material
is water-resistant to 2,000 mm after aging (5 washes), which is equal to 2,000 Schmerber (the average pressure exerted during rainfall).
This jacket was tested in 2 h of moderate rain (60 L/m²/h).

Waterproofing 2/2 and technical features

Materials are water-repellent (water runs off).
Fully waterproof seams.
Adjustable drawstring at the bottom.
Cuffs with adjustable rip-tabs.
Zipper protected by internal and external flaps.
High collar (11.5 cm in the back).
Plastic-moulded zip to prevent salt oxidation.

Hood

Stowable hood! The collar’s plastic-moulded zip prevents salt oxidation.
Height- and depth-adjustable. The hood visor and headband provide good coverage and a better hold.

The chin-high collar protects your lower face.

Pockets

Features 2 front zip pockets and 1 inner chest zip pocket.
Plastic-moulded zip to prevent salt oxidation.
Please note: Pockets are not watertight.

Front zip closure

Full-length zipper with an inner storm flap that protects you from wind and water. Exterior flap for additional waterproofing.
A soft flap on the top of the collar shields your chin.

Sleeves

The cuffs have adjustable rip-tabs to adjust the sleeve length and prevent water from getting in.
Unfasten the rip-tabs to remove the jacket.

Breathability

To find out if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat transfer (RET). The lower the RET, the easier it is for water vapour generated during physical exertion to pass through the fabric.
For example:
RET < 9 = very breathable;
RET 9–12 = breathable.
The sailing jacket’s RET is 12.

Water repellency

Water slides off the anorak’s surface without seeping in.
The material stays lightweight and breathable. The water-repellent coating applied to the anorak’s exterior may break down over time.
To restore it, place the anorak in the dryer for 10 minutes at the lowest temperature.

How to wash your anorak

To maintain the water-repellent properties, infrequent washing is recommended.
Close all zippers and flaps, empty all pockets, and turn the anorak inside out. Wash it on the synthetics cycle at 30°C or 40°C with your usual detergent. Don’t use fabric softener or bleach, as these could damage the water-repellent coating.
Very important: Run a full rinse cycle or extra rinse.

How to restore the anorak’s water repellency

Drying is a crucial phase in restoring the water-repellent treatment.
We recommend that you lay your anorak flat on a clothes rack to dry. Never dry your overalls directly on a radiator.
Next, put your anorak in the dryer and run a short synthetics cycle (10–15 min.) before turning it right-side-out. Caution: do not over-dry the garment.
