I have a lot to say about this style of wetsuit applicable to all brands, however, in this review I will stick to the major flaw in using this wetsuit in cold water.
I swim and SUP in Scotland all year round. During the winter the water temperature is about 7 Celsius. In addition to the wetsuit, this also requires gloves and boots. I have been cold in many wetsuits before but never felt pain in an area covered by neoprene.
With the hood attached there is not enough thickness in the neoprene in this wetsuit at the back of the neck. I am not talking about water which is leaking through the edges of the shoulders or around the face. This is cold felt through the wetsuit at the back of the neck and the lower part of the skull. With a classic zip at the back wetsuit, this would be the transition between the neck seal and the hood and thus be doubled.
Let me be clear, it is not just cold but PAIN you feel through the thin neoprene material used in the hood which results in you feeling pain in the back of your neck. Other than this the suit would be just about warm enough.
