TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Grippy sole

Certified sole grip. To earn certification, the shoes must pass lab tests to assess their grip rate on different surfaces (Smooth, Rough, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we have a panel of representative testers evaluate the quality of our soles out in the mountains across 500 km

Which size should you choose?

It's important to try several shoe sizes and styles to find the one that's best for you.
Consider choosing one size larger than your usual size to keep your toes from hitting the front of the shoe when going downhill—but make sure your foot is secured to avoid irritation.
Advice: keep your toenails short and, before heading downhill, tighten your laces to keep your foot from sliding forwards inside the shoe.

Buying advice / How to try on footwear

Some Decathlon stores have a test trail.

1. Try both shoes on, wearing your hiking socks, and stand up.
2. Tie the laces, making sure to tighten them evenly.
3. Check two things:
- your heel doesn't lift off the ground before the shoe when walking uphill.
- your foot doesn’t slide and toes don’t touch the front when going downhill.
4. Try on several sizes and styles.

Wear them in gradually so they conform to your feet.

Field tests

Hikers who don't work for Decathlon test all our shoes for initial comfort and comfort in use under the same conditions you encounter when hiking. This is done to further develop the product and evaluate it as objectively as possible, for your total satisfaction.

Lab tests

Additional lab tests also check the following: tearing of eyelets and straps, adhesion, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of sole and upper components, and accelerated ageing.

Make the most of your shoes: replace your insoles!

The insole that comes with your shoes should suit most feet. You can replace insoles for:
1. Better support: some are pre-formed or reinforced to better support the arch of your foot.
2. More comfort: they can also provide warmth and/or cushioning.
3. Increased durability: replace them to recover your shoes' original support and comfort.
