What does the RDS* certification mean?
Ethical down certified by RDS (Responsible Down Standard). Our traceability system guarantees the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering.

Down/feather fill power
This 85% down / 15% feather down jacket has a guaranteed fill power equal or above 660 CUIN (European standard). The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. So, down with a higher fill power (high CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation.
What are the benefits of a duck down and feather filling?
The durability and fill power properties of down give this jacket 3 qualities for hiking:
- The air trapped in the down and feathers provides thermal insulation
- Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack
- Ultra-compressible
In case of rain
The quilted jacket’s material is water repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric, preventing them from soaking into the down jacket as quickly. But the down jacket is not waterproof. So we recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.
How to wash your feather down jacket
Some tips: close all the zippers on your down jacket and put it in the washing machine (synthetic cycle at 30°C).
To preserve the fill power and warmth, put 2 tennis balls in the machine
NB: set a gentle spin cycle, as a fast spin cycle creates clumps that are difficult to break up.

How to dry my down jacket
During washing, the down loses its loft. Tumble-drying is the best way to restore fill power. Put your down jacket in the dryer with two tennis balls. Run 2–3 drying cycles.
If you do not have a tumble dryer, you can completely dry your down jacket on a drying rack by turning it over and patting regularly.
How to restore water repellency
Over time, due to washing and wear and tear, the water-repellent treatment becomes less effective.
This is how you can re-activate your padded jacket’s water repellency!
Use the care product. Wash-in product for reactivating the water repellent properties
Our products' environmental impact
Different indicators are used to calculate the product's environmental impact over its entire life cycle.
An ABCDE rating shows the environmental impact of a product. Put forward by ADEME, it takes into account production, transportation, usage, and waste generated at the end of a product’s life. Decathlon displays this information voluntarily to help you identify products with lower environmental impact.Learn more athttp://sustainability.decathlon.com/
