TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Is my jacket warm enough for winter hikes?

This jacket was developed for intense wintry conditions: intense cold, snow, blizzards. Insulation is provided by the thick synthetic wadding that traps air (double layer on the body and single layer at the arms).
A padded inner flap beneath the zipper keeps cold air out. The system is supplemented by a drawcord at the hem to make the jacket comfortable down to -20°C.

How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?

Your jacket is designed with a waterproof material that keeps out water and wind. To stay warm in the winter, you must also protect your head, hands, and feet. The anti-blizzard hood with detachable synthetic fur, wrist sleeves and a rising collar prevent cold infiltration. The fleece-lined, high hand warmer pockets perfectly protect your hands in a comfortable position.

How can I be sure that my jacket is 100% waterproof?

Coating on the outer fabric makes this extreme cold jacket waterproof. We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard).
The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. As a result, waterproof material with a rating of 2,000 mm withstands the pressure exerted by a 2,000 mm column of water, roughly equivalent to a two-hour shower.

Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?

Taped main seams ensure that your jacket is waterproof. The inside seams are also sealed with waterproof tape, to make them watertight and prevent water seepage into more vulnerable areas.
The waterproofing was validated with a specially designed shower test that replicates a 2-hour rain shower. The jacket is also field-tested in all weather conditions to make sure it’s suitable for your activities.

A practical jacket with smart details

Practical and smart details: 2 hand warmer pockets, 2 outside pockets with flap, 1 secure inside pocket, 2 inside mesh pockets to have everything handy.
The main fastening has a long zipper pull and snap buttons as well as a thumb pass so you can open or close your jacket while keeping your hands snug in your gloves. The 2 easy zippers at the bottom of the jacket allow you to bend or sit down comfortably.

A comfortable jacket for extreme cold with a unique style.

This jacket is roomy so that you can wear a second warm layer of fleece or light down.
Its longline cut (i.e. like a parka) is ideal for protecting you from the cold and wind during winter hikes in hilly areas or in the mountains.

Will my jacket withstand regular use over the long term?

To ensure the durability of our products, tests are conducted to measure: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colourfastness, resistance to repeated washing. All these tests were conducted on this jacket’s material.

How to preserve the technical qualities of my jacket

Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. The garment should be retreated over its lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products (spray or liquid) designed specifically for this purpose are available in our stores.

How to dress properly for snow hiking

Whatever your cold-weather activity, use the 3-layer principle:
Layer 1: The high-tech base layer wicks moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.
Layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards.
Layer 3: The jacket protects from outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.
To eliminate moisture, the whole outfit must be breathable.

How does my product warranty work?

This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear or improper use.
