Fashion aside, this hat serves a purpose of sun protection. It's packable, comfortable and offers good shade. However, I would welcome a simple plastic snap on the sides for weather adaptability.

I bought it for myself as a female, as I preferred this color over what was labeled as "women's" hat. I love the adjustability of the size of the hat, as well as the cord around the chin. It stayed on very well, even in very windy areas near the Atlantic and North Ocean where
I visited. It is light and easy to fold and bring around in my knapsack. Have not washed it yet as of the review, but seems like it will hold up after a good wash.

I purchased this because I play off a lot and wanted added protection for my eyes from the sun. Very lightweight and breathable, with the full brim, adds excellent protection for my eyes.
