Bought a pair for my child who frequents muddy paths by choice (and sometimes not)! She wore that pair for a full year until outgrowing them. She liked them enough that we bought a larger pair! The sole is very durable and grippy. Waterproofness is ok for light splashes an
d mud but not for full immersion. They do seem to get less waterproof with time but by then she'd outgrown them so it was no big deal. Great shoe for the price!
