Easy to use and really good value for money

I recently bought this bike to learn how to commute to work as in cycling after ages and I must say it’s really good value for money. Initially I found it difficult to fold but after a few tries it’s very easy. It is a bit heavy as I’m 5’2 and I need to lug it up two flights to my flat but it’s easier than a regular bike and so convenient. My only issue is that the back light isn’t coming on and I do t know how to change the battery, hopefully someone can help. Love the bike. Thank you Decathlon!

I wrote a review on this bike just after I bought it, so this is an up-date. I use the bike and train 5 days a week to commute. This bike is great, I haven't had it serviced yet, i will soon, but nothing has gone wrong with it since I bought it, none of the cables have stretched the gears changes are still good. I find this bike totally reliable and the quality is superb, especially given the price, it really is a joy to ride and so responsive. I would thoroughly recommend this bike to anyone, you won't get a better built, more reliable and fun to ride bike at this price !

Tilt 120

I had a Brompton but sold it as I wasn't using it enough - I have subsequently bought the Tilt 120 and have to say, 1st impressions are that it is a really good bike. Crucially, it is heavier than a Brompton and it is not as compact when folded, but I find it more comfortable and useable than the Brompton. It might be prone to unfolding when carrying and so I have bought a heavy duty carry bag from a well known rain forest website. For the money, this bike is excellent.
Very easy to fold but not the best quality

Overall it's not too bad. It doesn't take much space and it's very easy to fold and unfold. However, whenever I change to first gear- bike chain falls off. Also it's hard to move it around when folded as the little metal part that suppose to hold it together isn't strong enough to keep it together, therefore the bike 'opens ' when it's at an angle. To top it off one of the breaks recently broke but it shouldn't be anything difficult to fix. Nevertheless, I only had it for a couple of months and haven't been using it that much so now when I think about it I should have paid more money and get a better quality product.
Great value for money!

It has everything you need and it's fun to ride!
Bought online and got it delivered. Had a couple of minor issues that can happen when remotely purchasing these kind of products but the excellent customer service team did an amazing job to help us solve them. We are immensely grateful to Lee, specialist from the cycling team, who went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the bikes and fixed the little details that needed attention. Even in adverse circumstances like this particular period we are all going through, Lee and his colleagues dod a wonderful job. Thank you once again. Merci Lee! Merci Decathlon!

I'm not an expert and this is my first bicycle as an adult...I must say it's very convenient, especially if I don't feel like cycling back from some place, I just take an Uber. The only things not positives are: even though the folding is easy, it is not as easy as a Brompton bike obviously, it requires some technique, otherwise I'll scratch my leg, or something like that, mine didn't come with the locking bits when the bicycle is folded, those cam broken, so I had to tell them and they sent me the replacement quite soon, I still have to figure out how to install it...I don't have the tools and they didn't send them for this piece, the bike comes with some tools, but not this type of key.

At first I really hurt myself cuz the breaks where really tight, I was going downhill and hit the break, I almost fell. Also, when I went to local bike shop to buy a helmet, they told me the alignment was not great, I went to a second shop because that one didn't have a helmet for me and they said the same, so apparently they assemble it so quickly that they don't align them well. I don't notice this, they just told me.

I guess I could go and get the bike aligned for free, but I don't live near the shop.

Overall I'm happy because of the whole size and I don't have movement restrictions, being it a folding bike.
Simply the best

Tilt 120 appears to have the best reviews. So I got a red and grey for me and my girlfriend. It's good looking and excellent to ride. It can be easily folded and kept in the car, also doesn't occupy much space at home. We have been visiting many places since we got these. The gears are also smooth that helps on the hills. We're happy with the choice, just love these bikes
I think it's the best of the budget folding bikes

After looking into budget folding bikes for a while, I bought the Tilt 120 for my father in law last year, and he's ridden it loads over the months. I bought one for myself a couple of months ago as a backup to my Brompton (and road bikes!) N=1 I've enjoyed riding the bike and would like to mention a few things that will hopefully be useful for potential buyers, especially the mechanically minded and that haven't been covered in other reviews. Firstly, after looking at & riding several budget folders, this is undoubtably the best as far as design & finish is concerned. I'm 5'11" and need the seat post at it's highest- if you're taller beware, however a Brompton extended length seat post will fit perfectly, you'll need a new pentaclip/saddle clamp though.
The reach (distance from saddle) is quite short, but the handlebars can be rotated forwards (and down if desired) it looks a little strange but you feel less cramped. There's also a little extender that's available on a well known auction site that fits to the handlebar clamp and the bars then fit to it 2 inches further forward (or down) ...ideal for the taller rider of maybe 5'9" or more. The gearing is par for the course, with a derailleur and a 14-28 freewheel- this is good for up to about 18mph in top gear, any more and you're legs will be spinning. Ideally folders should have hub gears but we're talking a £200 bike here. After looking in to it, the cheapest way of highering the gearing is by replacing the 6 speed grip shifter with the BTwin 7 speed grip shifter (£8!) and then replacing the 6 speed freewheel with a 7 speed with a 13-28. This will cost about £20 all in (and half an hours work) and makes a real difference, I can now make use of mild descents and tailwinds. It's not the change to 7 speed, it's being able to use a freewheel with a 13 tooth sprocket that makes the difference. Sadly only one manufacturer makes a 6 speed 13-28 freewheel, but they're £60!
I'm having fun riding it and making subtle modifications to improve it. How does it compare to a Brompton? Apples and eggs..On the plus side it's more comfortable over bumps (bigger wheels and wider tyres), it's 1/5 of the price and most parts are standard and you can choose what parts to change/upgrade and what to. It rides more like a MTB or hybrid with wide tyres fitted, whereas the Brompton rides more like a road bike- stiffer, firmer, more agile (but more twitchy). The Brompton Upton folds better and smaller, and is lighter, nobody will argue otherwise. this could make the difference between confidently carrying it up/down escalators on the underground and not being able to. If you need a folder just to pop into the boot and drive to the country, keep in a camper or keep in a small flat I doubt it'll matter much. If you keep this bike maintained (clean/lube drivetrain regularly etc) you should be able to do thousands of miles without issue, and if you decide to change/upgrade parts, it's easy.
Nice bike.
