Shaft: 100.0% Aluminium, Handle: 100.0% Polyoxymethylene

[translation_pdp-tests]

We measured stresses on the poles in the most demanding situations. During development, each pole undergoes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses (compression, three-point bending, etc.) until it breaks. We also test parts separately (tightening power, tearing, etc.). Finally, these tests are regularly repeated during production to ensure a consistent level of quality.

[translation_pdp-storage-advice]

Store the pole in a dry place with the adjustment system loose so that it retains clamping power.

Design

This model was designed and validated by our Mont Blanc team. To deliver on our anti-shock promise, we included a spring in the screw tightening system. Next, we added a handle that’s powerful and comfortable regardless of your hand position: along the tube for climbs and steep terrain, with the wrist strap for efficient pushing, and on the knob for descents.

How to adjust your poles to the correct length

While holding the grip, your arm should bend at a 90-degree angle. To do this: - Unscrew the middle section, find the length of pole you want, and screw back tightly. - Tighten further (a half turn) if you notice your pole is collapsing. - Do the same with the lower section. Never go over the Stop line to avoid breaking the pole.

Directions for use

This hiking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself, and distribute weight between your arms and legs. To be on the safe side, check when you set off and at regular intervals that your pole is locked in place by simulating heavy bumps. If you notice that your pole tends to collapse, tighten it another half turn. Do not put it on your backpack in the event of a storm.

Care instructions

Proper maintenance of your pole will ensure that it functions optimally and that it lasts longer. After use, if water has penetrated the pole, remove the strands and allow them to dry. If necessary, clean the dust or mud with water or a dry brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the strands. Do not oil or grease the mechanisms.

Why is the pole sold individually?

Decathlon sells hiking and trekking poles individually. This is because they are used in different ways. Some people prefer to use only one pole. If someone uses a pair and one pole breaks, they can replace one broken pole without buying a new pair.

It was quite good and relatively compact for being able to adjust and twist to lock, good adjustable hand wraps though a but tough to unlock which is a good thing. Sometimes I found I didn’t have them tight enough so they compressed on me just two times while walking, which wa

s on me for not locking it stronger (trying to tighten wearing thick gloves). unfortunately one of the two sticks I bought stopped springing in the middle of the first hike I took it on (granted it was 23) (there is a spring mechanism) and the rod inside just stopped going down, going to try returning it since I couldn’t just losen it or apply force to make the rod and spring compress again.

Activating & Deactivating Anti-shock
Julia

This feature is great, however as a newbie using nordic poles it took me some time to and several YouTube videos to work out how to activate and deactivate the anti-shock device. It is really easy to do but it does not tell you how to do this. Please Decathlon could you

let customers know this. Other than that I am now watching as many how to videos as I can. I wish I'd bought one of these years ago.
