How to choose your rash guard (part 1)
All our UV-resistant rash guards are UPF 50+, meaning they offer maximum sun protection. Choose your sleeve length based on your activity. Our line was primarily designed to meet surfers’ demanding needs. Choose your T-shirt based on the duration of your surf session: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.
How to choose your rash guard (part 2)
1 hour: occasional practice. Choose either a loose fit (easy to put on, comfortable when dry) or a tight fit (comfortable when wet). Look for a loop system so you can fasten the rash guard to your shorts. 2 hours: regular practice. A rash guard with a drawstring and seamless underarm panels will improve fit and comfort in the water. 3 hours: intensive practice. A style with added warmth will let you stay out longer.
UV protection even when wet
This Olaian rash guard blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays (UPF 50+). guaranteeing effective protection from the sun. Ideal for water sports, it can be worn in or out of the water. The density of the textile fibres filters out UV rays for long-lasting protection, even after washing.The elastane may deteriorate in chlorinated water.
What does UPF 50+ mean?
UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) is an international standard that measures the proportion of UV rays a fabric lets through to your skin. A UPF of 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays.
Reduced chafing
This UV-resistant rash guard helps minimize irritation due to contact with your surfboard or bodyboard. It can also be worn under a wetsuit to limit chafing around the neck and armpits. Shown to reduce chafing from paddling movements during one-hour sessions. If you plan to surf for more than one hour, our 500 UV rash guard with seamless underarm panels is a better choice.
Support and stability in waves
This rash guard has a front loop that attaches to the cord of your swim shorts to keep it from riding up while you surf. Ideal for sessions of up to an hour. For longer sessions, we recommend our UV 500 rash guard, which also has a drawstring at the hips to keep it in place. A rash guard can cause irritation on the lower abdomen if it rides up.
Warmth and wind
This rash guard is recommended for use in water temperatures of 22°C and up. Air temperature may affect this recommendation. Our thermal models are made of fleece, neoprene, or both. We recommend choosing a model made with neoprene if you’ll be out in conditions where the wind exceeds 15 km/h.
Suitable for multiple water sports
Our UV T-shirts meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. They’re compatible with many other water sports, including swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and stand-up paddle boarding.
Sun exposure advice
This top is UV-resistant, but it doesn’t provide total sun protection. Consider other factors like reflections (off water, sand, etc.), temperature, and time of day. Wearing this top is just one part of staying safe in the sun. You should also wear sunglasses and a hat or cap, apply sunscreen regularly, and drink plenty of water.

Excellent quality, and does exactly what it should do. If you aren't quite lean or young, might want to go up a size, as it's still quite fitted. I'm using it as a cycling jersey, and it's been great for keeping me cool, but also keeping the sun off my arms and neck.

It works very good, but the only thing that stresses me out is why is it so tight? And why there aren't any other UV-protection clothes out there? Nowadays it is not only swimmers and surfers who need UV protection, but the only type of clothes with that tech are these surfing
