We measure a fabric’s resistance to water pressure in mm of water column (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure a fabric can withstand, the more waterproof it is.
Waterproofing ratings:
Component resistant to water pressure of 5,000 mm before and after aging (5 washes). This equates to 5,000 Schmerber average pressure exerted by the water during rain.
The jacket’s waterproofness was tested in a rain shower with 60 litres of water/m²/hour for 2 hours.

Jacket waterproofing

The hood is attached and 
adjustable for height and depth. It does not tuck away into the collar.
Visor with a headband to provide a good level of protection and a better hold.
The high neck effectively protects the neck.

2 zippered pockets on the front to put your hands or items and 1 inner right-chest pocket with hook-and-loop fastening. Note: The pockets are not waterproof.

The full-length zipper includes an inner flap that protects you from wind and water,
and the collar has a soft flap to shield your chin.

To find out if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat transfer (RET). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more moisture is evaporated, and therefore the higher the fabric’s breathability.
For example:
RET < 9 = very breathable;
RET 9–12 = breathable.
This jacket has two components with the following RET values:
> more resistant fabric: RET < 12 (or 3621 g/m²/24 h)
Lighter fabric: RET < 8 (or 2972 g/m²/2)

This jacket stays lightweight and breathable in wet conditions because 
the treated fabric repels water instead of letting it soak in. The water-repellent properties are achieved with a treatment applied to the external side of the fabric, but in practice these properties can be altered.
To revive it, simply tumble dry the jacket for 10 minutes on the lowest heat setting.

Water repellency

Wash sparingly to help maintain the jacket’s water-repellent properties.
Close all zippers and flaps, empty all pockets, and turn the jacket inside out. Select a synthetics cycle (30°C–40°C) and use regular detergent. Do not use fabric softener or bleach, as these can damage the coating. Always run a full or extra rinse cycle.

Washing the jacket

Drying is a crucial phase in reactivating the water repellent treatment.
First, lay the garment flat on a drying rack. The heater? Forget it!
Once dry, put it in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle (10–15 minutes), then turn it right side out. Caution: Avoid over-drying.
