The first factor to consider when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature. Water temperature varies depending on the location and time of year. Keep these guidelines in mind: Water above 20°C. Water between 17 and 22°C. Water between 12 and 17°C and water between 7 and 12°C. How to choose a wetsuit Part 1

The second thing to consider is the length of your sessions. Our 100 models are suitable for sessions of up to 1 hour. For 1-2 hours, opt for a 500 wetsuit; for 2-3 hours, go for a 900. Compared to the 100 models, the 500 models will be more efficient at reducing fatigue (more freedom of movement) and irritation. The same is true for the 900 models, compared with the 500 models.
Note: The 900 models are easier to put on.

How to choose a wetsuit Part 2

To get the most out of your wetsuit, it’s important to choose the right size. A surfing wetsuit should fit snugly and have no visible folds. It’s normal for the suit to feel too tight when dry; this discomfort will disappear once you’re in the water. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will form and it can start to cause irritation.

Your new wetsuit doesn’t quite fit? Returns and exchanges are free at the customer service desk in our stores for a period of 365 days if your purchase is recorded on your Decathlon account. You can also return your wetsuit through the post or at a pick-up point by printing your return form on our website, under: return form. In this case, you are responsible for return shipping costs.

This Olaian 100 2/2 mm wetsuit is made from genuine neoprene for guaranteed optimal comfort during use.
The synthetic lining improves its resistance to wear.
Neoprene thickness: 2 mm.
The neoprene is made of an elastomer foam with insulating properties.
We test and guarantee the quality of our neoprene materials.

Materials

The neck is designed to limit irritation. If you have sensitive skin, consider wearing a UV-resistant top under the wetsuit to reduce rubbing and chafing. The application of grease (e.g. Vaseline) in friction areas (neck, underarms, knees) is also recommended if wearing the diving suit for long periods.
Make sure the flap is always inside the wetsuit to limit the risk of irritation with the zipper and the neck.

Neck

Our zips and fastenings are lab-tested for guaranteed durability and resistance to salt water. The zip is at the back of the wetsuit for greater comfort when lying down to paddle.

Fasteners

Seamless panels under the arms reduce irritation caused by paddling movements.

Anti-chafing design

When you’re in the water, more than half your body heat is lost through your extremities (feet, hands, head). To stay warm, consider these accessories:

- in water >17°C => neoprene low boots.
- in water 12–17°C: High-cut booties and gloves.
- in water 7–12°C: Boots, gloves, hoodie, hooded top...
