The jacket's waterproof was tested in a rain shower with 100 L of water / m2 / hour (2 gal/ft2) for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain downpour.

Product waterproofing

We measure a fabric’s resistance to a column of water in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric.
A component with a 2,000 mm (80") waterproof rating can withstand 2,000 mm (80") of water pressure (which is roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). 
With waterproofing greater than 10,000 mm (400"), this jacket offers a very high level of waterproofing.

Fabric waterproofing

To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 Standard). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more water vapour generated by an active body evaporates, the higher the fabric’s breathability.
We consider that: 
- RET < 9 = highly breathable fabric. 
- 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fabric.
- RET > 12 = slightly or not breathable fabric.
This jacket’s fabric has an RET of 8.

Fabric breathability

The size of the jacket’s hood size makes it compatible with a Climbing helmet. 
It is height and depth adjustable according to your needs. A semi-rigid visor offers better forehead and eye protection. The high collar provides protection for the lower part of your face.

Hood

Outer: 2 large pockets with taped zippers. The pockets are on the chest for easy access when wearing a harness. 
Inner jacket: 1 zipped pocket

Two-way front zipper allowing opening from the bottom and quick access to harness tie-in loop. The zipper pulls are easier to handle with gloves.

Pocket and zipper

Machine wash at 30°C Use washing powder, but do not use a softener. Close zippers and adjust cuffs before putting it in the machine. Reactive water repellency with adequate treatment after each wash. A whole range of specially made waterproof and breathable fabric care products are available in our Decathlon stores. Making use of these helps to optimize the effectiveness of your garment throughout its life cycle.
