The 3-in-1 system makes the jacket perfect in cold conditions (down to -10°C), as well as for warmer weather.
You can leave the inner layer at home and bring the rain jacket only. The inner padded jacket can be used on its own as an intermediate layer over a T-shirt and sweater.

Our fabrics are lab-tested based on various criteria, including abrasion resistance.
To replicate the friction caused by backpack straps, a standardized Martindale test was performed in which the jacket’s material was rubbed against another abrasive material. The aim is to measure the point of wear and where pilling begins. The jacket passed the test, reaching 20,000 cycles; this is above average compared to other jackets on the market.

A durable jacket with good abrasion resistance

The jacket was also subjected to single-rip tearing tests. The aim is to reproduce a situation in the lab where your jacket snags on something and rips.
Using this test protocol, we checked that the fabric doesn’t rip any further after a rip occurs so that it can still protect you for years to come.

Good tear resistance

Down has 3 important qualities for hiking:
- The air trapped in the down and feathers provides thermal insulation.
- Ultra-lightweight: Down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth, reducing the weight of your backpack even more.
- Ultra-compressible.

The advantages of duck down and feather filling

Fill power is a measure of the down’s thermal insulation capacity and potential to trap air. It is expressed in cuin (cubic inches).
Down with higher fill power will take up more space, trap more air, and provide greater thermal insulation.
For this inner jacket, the fill power is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 660 cuin (European standard).

Measuring the fill power of down and feather filling

The waterproofing of a fabric is measured in Schmerbers or mm of water (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. 

Component waterproofing

The waterproofness of a jacket isn’t just limited to its components: the assembly technique also makes a difference.

Whether the seams are heat-sealed or sewn then waterproofed, this jacket’s overall waterproofness is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rain of different intensities.

This waterproof jacket protects you from a downpour, i.e., 30 cm of rain in 3 hours.
