Lab- and field-tested with hikers. We approved the comfort temperature both at rest and while walking, as this can vary significantly: -8°C when stationary and -17°C when moving. We also considered how men and women feel the cold differently.

Are these boots warm enough for winter hikes?

A 100%, waterproof, low cradle protects the part of the foot most in contact with the snow. The textile upper is water-repellent and warm for effective protection against cold and snow.

How do these boots protect from outdoor conditions?

Traction depends on the number and shape of the lugs. The grip depends on the materials of the sole and the tread pattern, like car tires. Traction optimizes propulsion, prevents slipping when going uphill, and stabilizes the boot. 
Grip prevents the boot from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in demanding conditions (rain, snow, and ice).

What is the difference between traction and grip?

Boots with Snow Contact soles provide maximum grip and traction on snow for hiking. The 3.5-mm (0.14”) lugs are spaced strategically for optimal grip when hiking on snow. The lugs are designed to grip hard snow and evacuate excess water to avoid slipping.

How much grip and traction does this boot provide?

The material and tread of Snow Contact soles are specifically designed for optimal grip and traction. Snow Contact soles are more effective on snow than traditional soles. When walking on ice, adding anti-slip crampons to your boots is the only way to ensure optimum safety.

What are the advantages of Snow Contact technology?

This product was lab-tested by our engineers to ensure your total satisfaction. We tested the following elements: tear resistance of eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, and accelerated aging.

Will my boots withstand regular use over the long term?

Follow these principles for your winter activities. 
Warmth: wear warm socks (ideally with a good percentage of wool).
 Breathability: choose socks based on the intensity of the hike and, to minimize moisture, make sure they’re breathable.
Boot height: the height of the sock should correspond to the height of the boot—for more protection, choose higher socks.

How do I choose the right footwear for hiking in the snow?

Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment needs to be reapplied throughout the product’s lifetime. Products for this purpose (spray or liquid) are available in our stores.

How to preserve the technical qualities of the boots

This product is guaranteed for two years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear or improper use.
