It’s the best thing about these Freeride bib pants. This back protector complies with PPE standards. The soft polyurethane foam doesn’t hinder movement. Micro-perforations provide ventilation. Securely attached to the pants; it stays put in any situation. Finally, a perfectly positioned back protector that stays in place!
Before washing the bib pants, simply remove the back protector.

Back protector

Water repellency is a material’s ability to let water bead off the surface without being absorbed. Our freeride pants have water-repellent components that prolong their weather resistance. This additional technical feature keeps you dry longer. To maintain water repellency, treat regularly with products sold in our stores.

Water repellency

The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Fabric with a waterproof rating of 5,000 mm is resistant to the pressure exerted by a 5,000 mm column of water.

Component waterproofing

To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its total evaporative resistance (RET) based on the ISO 11092 standard. This shows the garment’s capacity to release perspiration and keep you dry. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. For example: 
RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric
/9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric/
12 < RET
< 20 = breathable fabric/RET > 20 = little or no breathability

These bib pants have a membrane. A membrane is a very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the fabric waterproof yet breathable. It is more flexible, lightweight, durable, and often more breathable than a coating. A coating is less expensive than a membrane and must be protected by a lining.

What is the difference between a membrane and a coating?

The waterproofing of the garment is related to its fabric, seam sealing, and assembly.
We use a waterproof zipper or a zipper covered by a waterproof flap.

How do we make a garment waterproof?

In addition to breathable materials, other technical features (zippers, vents, mesh) improve the overall ventilation of our ski jackets and pants. These ventilation features regulate the temperature inside the garment and help to eliminate perspiration.

How do we make a garment breathable?

If we can’t repair your product due to a production defect, you can exchange it or get a refund.

With Recco® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche. Anyone buried in the snow equipped with Recco® reflectors can be quickly and accurately located by emergency services using the Recco® tracker. Recco® reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche beacon. Recco® technology works as an additional safeguard, increasing the chances of being found in time. All our Freeride jackets and pants are equipped with the Recco® system.

Follow these instructions at every washing to preserve all the technical features.
  After three washes, restore the water-repellent properties with a waterproof spray or wash-in product.
