Whatever your cold-weather activity, use the three-layer technique: Layer 1: A high-tech base layer to wick moisture away from the body and keep your skin dry. Layer 2: A fleece jacket or sweater to provide warmth and transfer moisture outward. Layer 3: A jacket to protect against the elements (rain, snow, and wind). Absolutely great winter trousers for little ones. Nice and warm, plus elasticated ankle so that boots/wellies can easily fit over the top. Son wore them recently on a colder, wet day and was cosy, warm and dry when we got home. Not fully waterproof but worked great under water
proof over trousers for splashing in puddles!
