Component breathability
Component breathability is measured using thermal evaporative resistance (RET). RET refers to a fabric’s capacity to let perspiration evaporate. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric RET ≤ 20: Little breathability. Our product has a 12 RET rating.
Component waterproofing
A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment’s lifetime (every 3 washes).

I've had great luck with a few products from the Quechua line, but with these pants you get (less than) what you pay for. Bought two pairs for my active son and he completely split the knee open on each pair after a handful of days use. Provide decent rain protection, but not
fit for the school yard.
