Windproof:
Water repellency is achieved by applying a treatment to prevent water from remaining on the fabric’s surface. Water rolls off without being absorbed so the garment remains light, breathable, and warm. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof. The treatment should be reapplied to remain effective. Apply treatment on the outside instead of using additives during washing. Additives can affect the product’s breathability.
Water-repellent properties:

Microporous membrane:
the membrane is a polyurethane layer sandwiched between the softshell jacket’s inner and outer fabrics. It protects you from the wind, ensuring your body heat doesn’t escape. This membrane is also breathable: it wicks perspiration to the outside of the garment through its microscopic pores, preventing moisture build-up and keeping you warm and dry!

I brought this for my son. He just loves it. It's very warm and keeps him very comfy. I really don't need to pack him with extra layer as its windproof and water repellent and light weight as well. It's really good value for money. Highly recommended.
