Using the chain cleaner is quick and easy, and becomes a real pleasure.
How to use this product:
Press the push button on the bottom compartment while pulling on the top part with the other hand. Place the chain between the two parts of the cleaner and close them by fitting the top part into the bottom part. Install the hook on your derailleur hanger. Pour the degreaser through the hole at the top, observing the recommended level (around 9 ml [1/3 oz.]). Clean your chain by turning the pedals anti-clockwise.
For optimal results:
Leave for a few minutes. Complete the degreasing process with a few pedal turns. Remove your chain cleaner. We recommend that you rinse and dry your chain thoroughly before applying any lubricant. To ensure that your chain cleaner works at its best, it is important to position your bike (on the ground or on a stand) so that your chain is as horizontal as possible.
How much degreaser should you use?
This chain cleaner has been designed to give you good efficiency while using much less product than its predecessor. The previous model required 45 ml (1 1/2 oz.), whereas this one only needs 9 ml (1/3 oz.). So, with a 500 ml (1/2 qt.) canister you can do about 55 cleans (compared to about 15 with the previous one).
Maintenance advice:
After use, to maintain its effectiveness, remove the foam from the chain cleaner (located on the front), rinse, and wring out. Rinse the castors and compartments with clean water, leave to dry, and wipe. The foam will show marks from the first few passes of the chain, but this will in no way detract from its usefulness.
Tip from the pros:
Use the vegetable chain degreaser for greater efficiency. Renew your degreaser as soon as it is blackened. Collect your used degreaser and dispose of it at a waste disposal centre.

Work really well. The hook which catches the back of the rear derailleur also allows you to spin pedals without having to hold the chain cleaner in place, which is handy. My only dislike is the mechanism to unlock the lid with that button on the side - it's quite stiff and t

I've used a few chain cleaners before and this one is really good. The arm hooks over the back of the dureailier and it doesn't move. Easy to fill with cleaning solution. Makes cleaning the chain a doddle.

Minimal information on box. Not compatible with e-bikes where chain can’t be freewheeled in reverse (I.e chain stays stationary instead of being driven backwards). Foam insert quickly gets chewed up/ejected from casing by chain. Casing easily leaks cleaning fluid. Not very ef

The sponge insert tore on the second use. Spares unavailable, so be prepared to spend some time cutting replacements from washing-up sponges! Or buy a different product...Park Tools one looks good

Excellent product, well designed & works perfectly when used in conjunction with the Decathlon plant based degreaser. Cheaper than the branded alternatives but I can't see how they could do a better job. Had a really nasty, gritty chain on my gravel bike that I couldn't get c
