About self-inflating mattresses
A self-inflating mattress is made of an airtight envelope glued to an open-cell foam in which the air circulates. When you unroll the mattress, it will return to its original shape and thickness (3 cm/1” for the Basic mattress) and fill with air. You will have to blow it up the rest of the way to your preferred pressure level. Self-inflation may be more or less noticeable depending on the thickness of the mattress.
Directions for use
Unroll your mattress as soon as you set up camp. Leave the valve open to let the mattress pre-inflate. A self-inflating mattress will inflate to about 80%. You will need to blow up the rest yourself so you can adjust the pressure to your desired level of comfort. Note: choose your mattress width according to your tent’s interior measurements.

Thermal properties and warmth: winter use may be possible, depending on the temperature.
A new standard has been used since early 2020 to assess your mattress’s level of insulation: standard ASTM F3340-18. It measures the mattress’s capacity to retain or return body heat in order to avoid heat loss and provide you with thermal comfort. The foam provides thermal insulation.
