Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont Blanc in France. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams and outdoor sports enthusiasts. Our products are tested not only in the lab, but also on a variety of terrain, in the Haute-Savoie mountains of France and on coasts and in forests worldwide.
[translation_pdp-storage-advice]
Store the boots in a dry, dark, and ventilated place.
Cushioning
A heel insert and insole in 5 mm (0.1”) EVA foam provide good cushioning.
Grip
A patented Outdoor Contact thermoplastic sole ensures grip.
Fit
Flexible high top and accurate lacing with 10 holes and 2 hooks.
Traction
The outer sole design and material ensure good grip.
Lightweight
Each boot weighs 371 g (13 oz.) in size 9.5.
Durability
Laboratory tests were conducted for following elements: tear resistance of eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, and accelerated aging. We use these tests to improve the quality of our products and prevent the premature wear of our hiking shoes.
Comfort
Our hiking boots offer heightened comfort. We have included various design features in these boots to take care of your feet such as the EVA foam insole (flexible thermoplastic) and heel pad. The insoles are also removable so they can be washed.
Resistant soles for hiking trails
The sole design is the result of extensive research conducted in our labs. It is composed of a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and traction. We are always looking for the best solution for forest and coastal walking trails. Wearing the boots on paved roads can lead to the premature wear of your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.
What socks should you wear with the Quechua NH100 MID waterproof shoes?
These shoes are somewhat breathable, but not enough to wick away all moisture. Wear them with the Hike 50 Mid Socks: these socks are made with moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit structure underneath that wicks moisture away from your feet. They’re also high enough to protect your ankles. High socks reduce the chance of blisters.

After wearing these for one training walk of 20km, I took them to Spain to walk a 180km section of the Camino de Santiago. They gave me no problems at all, and felt broken in within a day. The midsole support was not as protective as my previous quechua boots, but these are
a slightly lighter construction, and the trail was quite rocky in places. However, they looked after my feet very well and being waterproof managed to keep my feet nearly dry even on the day when it rained for 6 hours. The grip was good in the dry but not quite as sticky on wet rocks. All in all a good boot, with enough room for my funny shaped feet.
