This boot was designed in France, developed by the production team in Italy, and then manufactured in Romania by a supply partner. Most of the materials also come from Europe. 

European Production

Outings are more pleasant when feet stay dry throughout! But this is the number 1 problem when shoes get taken off the beaten path. So our design team worked hard on this very issue. Here we’ve integrated a breathable, waterproof membrane underneath the upper, one that keeps water from getting in (rain, dew, etc.) while letting perspiration out. Plus, we tested it in the lab, with 50,000 flexes in water—equivalent to approx. 20 km (12 mi) or 8 hours of walking—without water infiltration.

To ensure your comfort in all weather conditions, and especially when it’s cold, our design team used the best insulating components on the market: Thinsulate by 3M. By placing 800 g (28.2 oz) of insulation underneath the waterproof membrane, your feet stay warm even in temperatures below -10/-15°C.
Be sure to cover your head and neck, as 40% of the body’s heat escapes from there. Keeping feet warm starts at the top.

Warm

A good sole is essential to go anywhere and walk on rough terrain. Our engineering team consulted advanced specialists at VIBRAM. Excellent grip on dry and wet ground, as well as on snow and ice. Beware of wet rocks, all equipment has limits.
With an 8″ (20.3 cm) upper, your ankles will be well-supported and protected from snow getting in, but not restricted.

Grip and support

We built the entire upper in 1.8/2 mm (0.07/0.08″) full-grain leather to make them highly durable for all your activities, and so that you can keep them for years to come! No more cracking leather. If you regularly grease your shoes and dry them upright away from the radiator or fireplace, you will enjoy them for many years.
1/ Remove dust from the shoes with a brush. With water and soap if necessary.
2/ Apply the Nikwax leather cream
