Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont Blanc in France. This location makes it a real meeting place for our teams and outdoor sports enthusiasts. Our products are tested not only in the lab, but also on a variety of terrain, in the Haute-Savoie mountains in France, and also on the coast and in forests worldwide.

[translation_pdp-storage-advice]

Store them in a dry, dark, and ventilated place.

Cushioning

EVA midsole guarantees comfortable cushioning.

Grip

Sole composition and design encourage good grip on hiking trails.

Fitting comfort

5 mm (0.2”) EVA insole | No seams on the heel

Traction

Sole design and 4 mm (0.16”) tread clear mud easily.

Durability

Front and rear synthetic rubber reinforcements.

Comfort

Our hiking boots offer improved comfort. This hiking shoe has an EVA foam midsole and insole (ethylene vinyl acetate), and the neck of the shoe (top of the heel) includes synthetic foam for greater comfort.

Resistant soles for walking trails

The sole design is the result of extensive research conducted in our labs. The sole is composed of a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and traction. We are always looking for the best solution for walking on forest and coastal trails. Wearing the shoes on paved roads can lead to the premature wear and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.

What socks should you wear with the Arpenaz 500 Hiking Shoes?

These shoes are somewhat breathable, but not enough to wick away all moisture. We advise you to choose Hike 100 Low or Mid Socks. They contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit structure underneath that wicks moisture away from your feet. They’re also high enough to protect your ankles. High socks reduce the chance of blisters.

Decathlon has quickly become my favourite sporting and outdoor retailer! Great quality, selection, and slick shopping experience.

These hikers look like they have great potential and just what I was looking for. Website clearly shows size 11.5 as an option. Delighted to see the half size, I ordered it. Arrived on time but in size 11.0! Of course they are too tight and need to be returned. Why would you a

dvertise one size and ship another? What a waste of time! I know I can return it but it is on my time... I wouldn't have ordered a size 11! Pair this with the new shipping charges...! Very disappointing Decathlon.

Great shoes for general walking
Gareth

These are great shoes. Comfortable, fairly light, excellent grip on various surfaces, and attractively designed. The tread is grippy but not massively cleated - you could wear these like regular shoes. You could probably use them as trail running shoes too. Although they a

ren’t waterproof, these shoes do a great job at keeping you reasonably dry in wet grass, puddles etc. Spray with some kind of water repellent and you’ll manage most things. One odd thing - I’m usually a UK size 9 1/2 (44 Euro) but had to drop down to a UK 8 1/2. They fit great though.

On my second pair

Bought a pair of these about six years ago and they're still holding together. Wore them a lot as an everyday shoe and for some hill walking. Very pleased with them so I've decided to go for another pair. Surprised with some reviews on here saying they fell apart after a year.

I thought they were great quality.

Did not last
David

Disappointed that the rubber on the outside of each shoe has cracked open after just five months of wear (and that is just 3-4 times a week walking the dog on pavement) Also, these are remarkably slippy on even just smooth wet pavement.

The sole and upper have come apart after barely a year's use, not much grip & poor cushioning, they're cheap for a reason.....

Not quite trainers, not quite shoes, thought they'd make a change. Not bad for the money either

Fell apart after 1 year
Sam

: More than 1 year

Bought these shoes as they seemed to have good ratings and were said to offer similar build quality and durability when compare other big brand walking shoes. They’ve generally been pretty good but I’ve now had them for 13 months and the sole is starting for fall off and deta

ch from the upper. I’ve never done any big or challengong walks or scrambles in these - just worn them on pavements really so I’m surprised and disappointed that they are disintegrating after 13 months of relatively light use. I’m going back to some bigger brands fur my next pair of shoes - I want something that will last a bit longer. I’m sure others have had a good experience with Quechua shoes but for me the motto is ‘buy cheap, buy twice’…

These are my second pair and fit well. The previous pair were good but wore quite quickly although I do use them a lot. Maybe slightly warm when worn but otherwise good value
