The “Best before” date is set between 5 and 7 years after production, depending on the product, and corresponds to a guarantee of optimal quality.

Storage

Happy Yak is a Quebec company based in Cowansville in the Eastern Townships. 
The company specializes in making dishes for outdoor enthusiasts using a process called freeze-drying, which involves removing the water from the frozen product by sublimation. This process means that food can be kept at room temperature for several years.

Local product

In a saucepan, combine the cold water and the contents of the package and mix well. Bring to a boil while stirring. Simmer over a low heat for 1–2 minutes. Cover then remove from the heat. Leave to rest for 12–15 min.

Stove preparation (best)

Beef blend Freeze-dried extra lean minced beef (beef, onions, spices), freeze-dried maize, sauce (glucose solids, maize starch, hydrolysed maize protein, potato starch, garlic powder, sugar, caramel, yeast extract, onion powder, salt, tomato powder, spices), dehydrated onion flakes.

Potato mix Potato flakes, skimmed milk powder, salt, spices.

Ingredients

Add the boiling water, mix well and seal the package. Let stand for 15–18 minutes, stirring once or twice.
