Activities

Swimsuits should allow you to move in the water easily, without pain or discomfort. The cut and design of your swimsuit’s back is key. V straps provide good overall support, and a high back offers a good amount of coverage.

The sleeve lengths vary, and they’re suitable for different water sports. That said, our line was primarily designed to meet the specific needs of surfers. 
Choose your rash guard based on the duration of your surf session: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.

How to choose your rash guard (Part 1)

1 hour: Occasional practice. Choose either a loose fit (easy to put on, comfortable when dry) or a tight fit (comfortable when wet). Look for a loop system so you can fasten the rash guard to your shorts.
2 hours: Regular practice. A rash guard with a drawstring and seamless underarm panels will improve fit and comfort in the water.
3 hours: Intensive practice. A style with added warmth will let you stay out longer.

How to choose a UV protection T-shirt (Part 2: )

This Olaian rash guard blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays (UPF 50+), guaranteeing effective sun protection. Ideal for water sports, it can be worn in or out of the water. 
The shirt’s dense fibres filter out UV rays for long-lasting protection, even after washing.

UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) is an international standard that measures  the proportion of UV rays a fabric lets through to your skin.A UPF of 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays.

What does UPF 50+ mean?

This UV-resistant T-shirt limits rubbing and chafing against surfboards and bodyboards. It can also be used under a diving suit to limit rubbing, particularly around the neck and armpits. Seamless panels under the arms reduce irritation caused by paddling movements. Our tests show that chafing is significantly reduced after a 2-hour session.

This UV-resistant rash guard has a drawstring at the hips to keep it firmly in place. You can also attach it to the drawstring on your boardshorts to prevent it from riding up while you surf.

Support and stability in waves

This rash guard is recommended for use in water temperatures of 21°C and up. Air temperature may affect this recommendation.
Our thermal models are made of fleece, neoprene, or both. We recommend choosing a model made with neoprene if you’ll be out in conditions where the wind exceeds 15 km/h.

Warmth and wind

Our UV T-shirts meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. They’re also compatible with many other water sports, including kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and stand-up paddle boarding.

Suitable for multiple water sports

Young skin is very sensitive to the sun, particularly before age 3. UV rays are two to three times more harmful to children than to adults, so it’s essential that kids wear proper sun protection.

Kids and UV rays

This top is UV-resistant, but it doesn’t provide total sun protection. Consider other factors like reflections (off water, sand, etc.), temperature, and time of day. Wearing this top is just one part of staying safe in the sun. You should also wear sunglasses and a hat or cap, apply sunscreen regularly, and drink plenty of water.

S, M, L, one size… which is the right size for me? 

The choice is quite simple: fabric and coated mesh caps are available in different sizes (S, M, L), while silicone caps are available in only one size as they are highly elastic.

To choose the right size, follow our short guide to head sizes:
- XS: 50–52 cm (20–20.5 in) (available in the range for babies)
- S: 53–56 cm (20.8–22).
- M: 56–59 cm (20.8–23.2).

How to choose your swim cap size

Did you know? Swim caps must be worn the right way round!

Mesh caps have a central band designed to run from front to back. The line of the fold of silicone caps (visible when the cap is flat) is in the same direction as that of the preceding caps.

Then join your hands and put them inside the cap. Stretch out your hands and fingers to create enough space to put the cap on.

At the front, the cap must be worn about one finger above your eye brows.

How to put your swim cap on

For two reasons. 

First, by wearing a swim cap, the environment in which you are swimming is protected. By retaining your hair, the cap protects the quality of the water and facilities by protecting the hygiene of the pool or waterway. 

Second, caps also protect you! Caps protect your hair against the harm caused by water, chlorine (or other treatments) and salt (or other pollutants).

To ensure a perfect fit in the water, it is important to choose the right size while you are dry because once they are in the water, swimsuits become looser. We therefore recommend you buy the correct size. Your swimsuit should fit snugly when you try it on in the fitting room. Keep in mind that the elastane in some of our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.

Our swimsuits are designed to stay in place in the waves. our women’s styles are tested by a panel of 12 or more female surfers with different body types. They’re first tested in a pool under simulated surfing conditions, then worn during real sessions in the ocean.

Goggles can fog up for several factors: a difference in temperature between the body and the water, humidity levels, etc. Wear due to friction is one of the main causes.

If your goggles fog up, dip your lenses in the water and a protective film will reform.
It is normal for the performance of the anti-fog coating to drop over time.

We provide a special marker to reactivate the anti-fog treatment and help your goggles last longer.

Reduce fogging

The goggles’ watertightness depends on how well they fit the shape of your face. 

Before purchasing, we recommend doing a suction test without the strap.
If the goggles stay on your face with only slight suction, they will be watertight during your swim. This also enables you to spot any areas of discomfort or annoyance when the model is on the face.

This model is adjustable and only available in one size.

Sizes

These swimming goggles fit the shape of your face and don’t need to be over-tightened.

Goggles that are too tight can cause discomfort, leave marks, and let water seep in.

You don’t need to press against the lenses with your hands. A light suction effect is all you should need to keep water out.

The straps should sit 2-3 cm above your ears This position will optimize the grip and comfort of the goggles.

Adjusting the fit

Care advice: 
- Rinse your goggles as needed by dipping them in the water
- Keep water jets away from the inside surface of the lenses
- Store in their case between sessions to avoid scratches and to protect the anti-fog treatment
- Avoid exposing the goggles to temperatures over 60°C
- Do not touch or wipe the inside of the lenses
