These 2-in-1 pants easily transform into shorts so that you can quickly adapt to changes in the weather. Reinforced inserts and assemblies for added strength.

These pants are designed with 3 different fabrics:
- a durable fabric (198 g/m²) on the areas that need protection from abrasion (seat, bottom of the leg at the front). This fabric is also stretchy, so you can move freely.
- a light, breathable fabric (145 g/m²) on the rest of the pants.
- a very stretchy crotch gusset.

Why choose a hybrid construction?

The 2-in-1 MT 500 Hiking Pants are equipped with: 
- 2 zippered hand pockets
- 2 zippered thigh pockets (and 1 mesh pocket inside the right pocket)
- 1 zippered back pocket

The pants are stretchy at the bottom so you can adjust them to fit perfectly over your shoes.

The pants come with a belt.

Features

These pants have water-repellent inserts (front of leg, seat) so water slides off the fabric’s surface. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof.

The water repellency prevents the pants from getting wet too quickly. However, this won’t be enough to keep you dry if you’re in steady rain. For intense rain, you will need a pair of rain pants.

Water repellency can be reactivated using a water-repellent spray (ref. 8800346).

We recommend that you machine wash your T-shirt at 30°C, using a specific technical detergent for merino wool, which is available on our website. Then leave to air dry, and do not tumble dry.

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: the main compartment and all the pockets are filled with little balls. These balls are then emptied into a graduated container to get the equivalent volume in litres.

How is volume measured?

1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, belt, and load adjuster straps).
2 - Put the backpack on.
3 - Tighten the shoulder straps.
4 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.

How to adjust your backpack

Put heavy items at the bottom. Pack your clothes around these items. Keep your waterproof jacket and/or fleece in an easy-to-access location. Place small frequently used items in the pockets (sunscreen, map, glasses, etc.). 

How to pack your backpack

The water-repellent components allow you to continue walking or hiking in light rain for short periods. Note: This backpack is not watertight or waterproof and does not come with a rain cover. 
To keep your belongings dry on longer walks or hikes, we recommend the following product: 10 L to 20 L Hiking Backpack Rain Cover (reference 8772113), which can be found on our website.

Waterproofing

The following components were validated in the lab: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, and zippers. For example, we test the fabric’s resistance to abrasion and tearing, colourfastness, and waterproofing. We also check the resistance of the construction using a dummy that reproduces a hiker’s movements to replicate several years of wear and tear.

Tested for optimal durability

Thanks to your feedback, we improved the design of the 10 L NH 50 backpack.
We added a double zipper on the main compartment and a larger pocket bottom on the outside pocket. The aim is to not lose your belongings when opening your bag. 
And of course, the price hasn’t increased!

Certified sole grip. The shoe passes laboratory tests to define its friction coefficient on smooth surfaces. To validate these tests, we check the quality of our soles out in the field by a panel of testers over hundreds of kilometres.

Our sandals undergo a series of intensive tests: they are tested indoors by a panel of testers, and they undergo field tests, long-term tests to assess durability and laboratory tests to assess grip, toxicity and durability. After six months of rigorous tests, we then approve the product.

How do we test our sandals?

- Clean off mud: remove dry mud with a hard brush,
- Treat stains: brush with warm water,
- Drying: air dry until fully dry.
