The pants have polyester reinforcements at the knees, lower legs and on the seat. Double stitching (assembly seams) and bar tacks at all the high-stress areas (pocket openings, loops and base of fly zip). Finally, the 4-point per centimetre sewing thread solidifies the overall assembly.

The shirt has two chest pockets closed with plastic snap buttons. It also has a vertical zipped pocket on the heart side.

The shirt has long, modular sleeves with a hook tab (fastening by snap buttons), and has a back opening for better ventilation with mesh lining. Similarly, this fabric, which is also present under the armpits, improves perspiration wicking. Finally, the front closure with snap buttons facilitates ventilation at all times.

Thanks to the ripstop panels at the shoulders, the double stitching at the shoulders and armholes, as well as the high-strength sewing thread (4 stitches per cm), this shirt is robust but light. To create hard-wearing pants, there are several design elements to consider.

Firstly, their component. That’s why we’ve selected a thick, 100% cotton fabric. 

We chose the thread carefully. Why? It has a twisted construction, which significantly increases its strength. 

In terms of the cut, the crotch area has been specially constructed with a gusseted design. This provides both durability and comfort so you can move without restriction.

- a durable fabric (198 g/m²) on the areas that need protection from abrasion (seat, bottom of the leg at the front). This fabric is also stretchy, so you can move freely.
- a light, breathable fabric (145 g/m²) on the rest of the pants.
- a very stretchy crotch gusset.

Why choose a hybrid construction?

The 2-in-1 MT 500 Hiking Pants are equipped with: 
- 2 zippered hand pockets

Features

These pants have water-repellent inserts (front of leg, seat) so water slides off the fabric’s surface. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof.

The water repellency prevents the pants from getting wet too quickly. However, this won’t be enough to keep you dry if you’re in steady rain. For intense rain, you will need a pair of rain pants.

Water repellency can be reactivated using a water-repellent spray (ref. 8800346).
