Component waterproofing

We measure a fabric’s resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a 10,000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 10,000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a 3-hour rain shower). Waterproof rating is expressed in Schmerber units (for example: 10,000 Schmerbers).

Component breathability

Component breathability is measured by thermal evaporative resistance (RET). RET refers to a fabric’s capacity to let perspiration evaporate. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric RET ≤ 20: little breathability Our product has a 12 RET rating.

Component resistance

Resistance to wear and abrasion test: for example, we test our fleeces in the lab to ensure they do not pill. Colourfastness test: we check colourfastness to ensure colours don’t bleed if they come into contact with saliva. Aging test: Verifies that repeated washing does not alter the fabric’s properties, performance, thickness, or appearance.

Windproof effect

A coating applied to the fabric makes it waterproof and windproof. Technically, a waterproof fabric is also windproof. Protection from the wind is critical, as wind can really chill the body during physical activity.

Cuffs adjust with hook and loop tab straps. Extra length at the back protects kids when sitting down. Two ventilation zippers at the front. Media pocket with headphone feed.

Care

1. Machine wash (30°C): fasten rip tabs and use mild detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2. Avoid bunching the garment in the washing machine: this can damage it. 3. Do not mix garment types and colours. 4. Do not use bleach. 5. Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. 6. Drying: Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).
