Mesh:
Made of a swimsuit type fabric that is easy to get on/off without pulling at your hair. Finishing seams around the head to ensure that the cap remains in place.

Coated mesh:
A comfortable mesh cap. It’s coated with a layer of silicone helps keep water out and makes it tighter, ensuring a close fit.

Silicone:
Silicone is less comfortable but highly elastic to guarantee a close fit and prevent water from leaking into the cap.

How to choose your swimming cap material

There are several alternatives to standard swimming caps to suit everyone’s needs:

- brush caps: made of a highly stretch mesh.
- waffle stitch caps: made of latex, can be put on without pulling at your hair.
- volume or extra volume caps: the shape of these silicone caps provides more room for full hair.
- moulded or shell swim caps: these silicone caps are made for competitive swimming.
- neoprene caps: perfect for open-water swimming.

Are there other types of swimming caps?

S, M, L, one size… which is the right size for me? 

The choice is quite simple: fabric and coated mesh caps are available in different sizes (S, M, L), while silicone caps are available in only one size, because they are highly elastic.

To choose the right size, follow our short guide to head sizes:
- XS: 50–52 cm (19.7–20.5 in). (available in the baby section)
- S: 53–56 cm (20.9–22.0 in).
- M: 56–59 cm (22.0–23.2 in).
- L: 59–62 cm (23.2–24.4 in).
- One size: 53 to 62 cm (20.9–24.4 in).

How to choose the right swimming cap size

Did you know? There’s a right and a wrong way round to wear a swimming cap!

Swim caps have a central band from the front to the rear. The line of the fold of silicone caps (visible when the cap is flat) is in the same direction as that of the preceding caps.

Then join your hands and put them inside the cap. Stretch out your hands and fingers to create enough space to put the cap on.

At the front, the cap must be worn about one finger above your eye brows.

How to put on your swimming cap

For two reasons. 

First, by wearing a swim cap, you protect the environment in which you are swimming. By covering your hair, you’re helping to keep the water and facilities clean and ensure the pool or waterway remain that way. 

Second, caps also protect you! Caps protect your hair against damage caused by water, chlorine (or other treatments) and salt (or other pollutants).
