 There are several factors to take into account that explain this difference, such as:
> activity intensity (related to cross-country skiing)
> each individual’s metabolism
> blood circulation

The above factors should be considered when choosing a pair of gloves.

Sensitivity to cold

1/ Warmth
3-finger gloves provide greater warmth than 5-finger gloves with the same features. 
Synthetic fibre (wadding) thermal insulation is one of the best alternatives to down.
2/Breathability
 Your gloves must have good breathability to stop air circulating inside the glove.
3/Grip and comfort
 Grip is the ease with which an individual can grasp the pole handle.

This fleece has a fitted, comfortable cut. Wearing a technical base layer is recommended for better protection against the cold. This fleece was designed to be worn under our windproof and waterproof jackets, such as the MH 100.

The fleece component is designed to trap air, which acts as a natural insulator to keep the body warm. 

How does the fabric insulate you from the cold?

We perform two kinds of tests to measure the warmth of our fleece:
- a material test 
- tests on a thermal manikin in a thermal chamber We reproduce wind (5 km/h), temperature, and humidity conditions typical for mountains on a 5 km/h hike.
These lab tests determine the design, and then it’s approved by field testers. 
Wearing only this fleece will keep you comfortable at temperatures ranging from 7°C to 10°C.

How is warmth measured?

Our hiking fleeces are tested for durability. We guarantee:
- resistance to pilling from backpacks and arm movements
- seam strength
- resistance after three washes

This ski base layer has a slim fit. It’s close-fitting, almost like a second skin. It doesn't constrict and reduces chafing to keep you comfortable throughout the day.

You need three technical layers to keep warm on the slopes:
- Layer 1 or second skin, to stay dry.
- Layer 2 or insulating layer, to keep the heat in. 
- Layer 3 to protect against the elements.

How to stay warm on the slopes

Yes. Thanks to its ultra-breathable design, this garment wicks perspiration away, keeping your body dry and preventing you from feeling cold due to the damp (in case of intense exertion). Its close-fitting cut also keeps you warm. For optimal comfort on the slopes, we recommend the 3-layer rule (see above).

Will this garment keep me warm enough?
