What is R-value?
R-value measures thermal insulation. It indicates how much heat a material retains or allows to escape. The higher the R-value, the better the insulation. R-value can be increased: stack two mattresses to combine their R-values. All our mattresses are tested to ASTM F3340-18 standards.
What R-value do you need?
R-value from 0 to 1.9: Hot season (summer) R-value from 2 to 3: 2- or 3-season (spring/summer/fall) R-value from 3 to 4: 4-season R-value of 4.5 and higher: suitable for use all year round, including freezing conditions.
Comfortable support for your back
Use with the aluminized side up and the foam side against the ground for optimal insulation. This lightweight mat is unusually comfortable because the foam is moulded to provide depth and support. Though only 2 cm thick, the mat is supportive and comfortable.

Great value for money! Would easily cost twice the price for an equivalent Thermarest one and it’s just as good. Nobody would pretend these type of mats are the most comfy, but for added insulation they are excellent.

Excellent upgrade to my old roll mat, good quality and half the price of a similar mat from a well known brand. The mat on its own isn't the comfiest (as I am a side sleeper) but I use this to protect and add some warmth to an inflatable mat. It's light weight but as with all
foam mats, bulky and has to be carried on the outside of a rucksack and therefore not very stealthy if that's your thing.

I purchased this mat with the sole intention of pairing with my cheap light weight self inflating mat for winter use .It offers cheap puncture protection and a decent upgrade in R’ values. Following a couple of winter camps I can say it performed as expected.
