We conduct lab tests to ensure the highest durability standards: tested for its resistance to friction that causes pilling, colourfastness, and aging to ensure that repeated washing does not alter the fabric’s properties, performance, thickness, or appearance.

To assess the fabric’s breathability or the evaporative resistance, RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard) is measured. The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more perspiration evaporates and the more breathable the fabric. The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 1092 standard).The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with an impermeability of 5,000 mm will therefore withstand the pressure exerted by 5,000 mm of water (which corresponds roughly to a 1-hour downpour). Waterproofing is expressed in Schmerber units (for example: 5,000 Schmerbers). This number applies before washing.

A coating applied to the fabric makes it waterproof and windproof. Technically, a waterproof fabric is also windproof. Protection from the wind is critical, as wind can chill the body during physical activity.

This unique protocol assigns each lock a rating from 0 to 10 that indicates how theft-resistant it is.
