The ball size depends on the player’s age and gender.
Size 1: Ages 2+. 
Size 3–5: Boys and girls ages 4–6 / mini-basket under-7 age group (depending on level and club).
Size 5: Boys and girls ages 7–10 / under-9 and under-11 age groups.
Size 6: Boys ages 11–12 / under-13 age group.
Size 6: Girls aged 11+ and women of all ages. Boys aged 13 + and men of all ages. 

What ball size should you choose? 


For durability, choose a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good feel, leather or synthetic is what you need. 

What ball should you use? 

All Tarmak products are tested both in the lab and on the court. At Kipstadium in northern France, our design team works to keep basketball players comfortable and confident during every game. 
Each product is tried by real players for weeks, and their feedback—along with lab results—drives every improvement we make. 

Did you know? 

An overinflated or underinflated basketball can’t give you the best game experience.
The recommended pressure is clearly written on the ball by the manufacturer. 
Ideally, you should use a pump with a pressure gauge for precise inflation.
We recommend a pressure of 0.62 bar. Enjoy your game! 

How much should you inflate your basketball? 

The official height of a basketball hoop is 3.1 m (10 ft 2 in) at the rim.
You want a basketball hoop for your child that will grow with them. 
There isn’t an official height for younger kids, so you can choose whatever suits them best.
For players up to age 10, club hoop height is 2.6 m (8 ft 6 in). 
From age 11 onward, girls and boys use standard 3.1 m (10 ft 2 in) hoops.
