A fabric’s water resistance is measured by the height of a water column in mm it can support (test based on the ISO 811 Standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Waterproof material with a rating of 2,000 mm withstands the pressure exerted by a 2,000 mm column of water. It’s a quality guarantee.

How to dress your kids so they stay warm in the snow.

A water-repellent fabric doesn’t absorb liquid: the fabric does not soak up water and stays light and breathable. You can see water bead and run off the fabric’s surface. A fabric is made water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment needs to be reapplied throughout the product’s lifetime (every 3 washes). 

What is water repellency?

To reactivate its water repellency, wash the garment inside out on a synthetic cycle at 30°C and rinse thoroughly. Use your usual laundry detergent but not fabric softener. Then let the snowsuit air dry completely on a drying rack. Finally, turn the garment right side out and tumble dry on low heat for 10 minutes. The heat reactivates the fabric’s water-repellent treatment.

How can I be sure that my child’s feet will stay warm?

The boot’s vamp (low, thermoplastic part) is snowproof. To make the entire boot waterproof, pull the bottom of the snowsuit or ski pants over the top of the boot. A hook under the sole helps you to position the elastic gaiter on the pants or snowsuit to provide a good seal and keep the snow out.

These boots were designed to fit a child wearing thick ski socks without compressing the foot and therefore encouraging thermal protection.

How to choose the right size

These winter boots have been specially designed so that they are extremely easy to put on your child. 
The uppers in sizes 3C/3.5C and 4.5C/5C are open on both sides and can be fully turned back to provide a wide opening for your child’s foot. 
Sizes 6C/7C and 7.5C/8.5C are open on one side. A strap on top of the upper lets your little one try and put the boot on all on their own.

Why do these boots have large openings and straps on top?

Traction depends on the number and size of lugs (3 mm on this boot). The grip depends on the sole materials and the tread pattern, like car tires. Traction optimizes propulsion, prevents slipping when going uphill, and stabilizes the boots.
Grip prevents the boots from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in difficult conditions (rain, snow, ice).

Thermal insulation will keep your young skiers at just the right temperature. This garment adapts to the body’s movements and to the outside environment. Wedze uses wadding for insulation to keep the body warm. 
Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester that stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. The thicker the wadding, the more air it contains and the warmer it is.

Thermal insulation

The coating is a waterproofing substance applied to the inside of the jacket and pants' outer fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows perspiration to escape. This keeps kids dry and comfortable.

Coating treatment

In addition to the waterproof fabric, taped seams make this snowsuit even more watertight. These are waterproof, adhesive strips taped to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. The taped seams are in the areas most exposed to snow. On this snowsuit, this means the shoulders, chest, and seat.

Because sharp skis and games in the snow can sometimes damage or cut the bottom of the ski suit, we added high-performance reinforcements to prevent tearing. These reinforcements are on the most exposed areas: knees, seat, lower legs, and mitten palms.

The innovative Pull’n Fit design makes it easy to adjust the leg length of the bib pants so that they adapt to your child. You just need to raise up the zippers at the ankles for shorter pants. A buttonhole system inside the sleeve lets you adjust the length of the sleeve and mitten. Your kid will be all set for at least a couple of years!
