Uses of a centre-mounted snorkel

Allows users to swim without interruption by breathing, which means swimmers can focus on their technique. Because coming up for breath isn’t necessary, the head stays still, thus making it easier to control and observe the body’s rotation. Some research shows improved aerobic capacity from swimmers who use the centre-mounted snorkel because the body can handle the CO2 found in the same tube by which oxygen enters.

Different uses:

Lengths of kicking can be done with the centred-mounted snorkel - it creates a highly realistic head position for the swimmer, always submerged. By using it with a pullbuoy, swimmers can work exclusively on the legs by focusing on the pulling and recovery techniques.

Recommendations for use

The first training sessions must be carried out with moderate intensity and duration; when swimmers get more used to it, they can have stronger sessions. Before swimming, ensure that the snorkel is comfortable and well adjusted on the head. If experiencing breathing difficulties because water gets up the nose, we recommend wearing a nose clip.
