We use repeated lab tests to verify the highest durability standards: an abrasion- and friction-resistance test to ensure that the fleece does not pill, a colourfastness test to check that colours do not bleed, and an aging test to ensure that repeated washing does not alter the properties of the fabric or its behaviour, thickness, or appearance.

Component durability

To assess the breathability of the fabric or the evaporative resistance, we measure RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more perspiration evaporates, and the more breathable the fabric. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric. 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric. 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric. RET > 20 = little or no breathability.

To Bring Warmth

All Wedze gloves and mittens have a water-repellent treatment that makes water slide across the fabric’s surface instead of being absorbed. This means the fabric does not become saturated. It remains light and warm. A treatment applied to the outer surface makes the fabric water repellent. To remain effective, this treatment must be renewed every 2 to 3 washes with specific products that are available in our stores.

Water repellency of the component

The mitten’s waterproof membrane consists of a very thin polymer film placed between the lining and the part of the glove in contact with the environment. This membrane acts as a barrier to make the product waterproof. The product’s exterior materials are also treated for water repellency. Only a rubber-type glove is watertight. Under extremely wet conditions, a glove with a membrane will have limited waterproofness.

All Wedze gloves and mittens are windproof. Did you know that the wind makes you feel colder? At an outside temperature of 0°C and a wind speed of 20 km/h (12 mph), the temperature will feel like -10°C.  Windproof fabrics limit wind chill and cold caused by the speed of the sport.

Because silence is the key to success when hunting, especially at cooler times of day, our designers selected a supple fleece fabric which is soft to the touch and close-fitting with offset seams to reduce friction noise and allow you to move silently. 
Self-locking zip fasteners.

This fleece has a slim-fit cut, without being too close to the body. We recommend wearing a technical first layer underneath, in direct contact with the skin, for better protection against the cold. It is also designed to be worn immediately underneath our windproof/waterproof jackets, like the women's waterproof jacket 500.
