Dimensions and weight

Sharpening a blade with a Scandinavian grind is simple. Place the blade flat on your sharpening stone or steel, then slide it down the length of the surface in a sweeping motion, sharpening the blade from base to tip. This allows you to preserve the angle of the blade and achieve a perfect edge.

There are several reasons to choose a 5Cr15-stainless-steel knife:

- It’s strong enough to use for extended periods (e.g., to cut branches or process big game for a couple of hours) without dulling the blade.
- It’s soft enough (about 56 HRC) to easily sharpen, allowing you to form a wire edge with just a few passes on a sharpening base.
- Its chemical composition gives it good corrosion resistance.

For safety reasons, your knife should be sheathed at all times when not in use. The sheath features a safety mechanism that locks the knife in place. To remove the knife, simply press with your thumb while pulling the knife free. To stow it, push the blade into the sheath until you hear a click.

Blade angle 20°. An orange triangle on the back of the pack allows you to check the angle of the blade to a sharpening stone. All you have to do now is place the blade on the triangle, follow the slant and keep to this angle while sharpening on the stone.

Sharpening

Our engineers have chosen 5Cr15 stainless steel for this knife for 3 reasons:

- the steel is hard enough to keep an edge for a good length of time, such as for cutting branches or processing big game for a couple of hours.
- the steel is soft enough to allow easy sharpening thanks to a hardness of around 56 HRC and to regain its edge in a few passes on a sharpening base
- the steel has a good resistance to corrosion due to its chemical composition.

Your knife is assembled with four Torx screws. The screw closest to the blade is linked to the blade rotation mechanism. For example, if you want to make it harder to close and open the blade, then tighten this screw, and vice versa.
Carefully wipe the blade after use, do not put in the dishwasher, keep in a dry place and, to take even more care, lightly oil the blade.
