Rhythmic gymnasts need the right ribbon length for their age and size.
- Gymnasts under age 11 should choose a 4-metre (13’) ribbon. 
- Gymnasts aged 11 and up should choose a 6-metre (20’) ribbon. 
You can also cut the ribbon to 5 metres (16’) and stitch the end to prevent fraying.

Our design team's advice: the perfect training kit for gymnasts is a sleeveless leotard or top and shorts or leggings, so that they can move freely and with confidence. Leotards are optional for training but compulsory for competitions.

How to choose a rhythmic gymnastics outfit

We recommend using your hoop on a surface such as a gymnastics mat or multisport floor because hard surfaces such as wood and concrete will damage it.
Wash the hoop with a bit of washing up liquid, water, and a soft sponge. Rinse well and rub gently.
Dry with a microfibre cloth to avoid abrasion.

Gymnasts use leather gymnastics grips for a better grip on the apparatus and to limit blisters from forming.

Why use grips?

Warning: 
Place the strap of the grip behind your wrist bone, turn your palm, and measure the strap up to the first knuckle of your middle finger.

Size 0: under 14 cm.
Size 1: 14 to 15 cm.
Size 2: 15 to 16 cm.
Size 3: 16 cm+.

Choosing your grip size

Grips designed for uneven bars have two holes for the middle and ring fingers as well as slight padding for a better grip on the apparatus.
The grips are marked with an R and L for right and left, to guide you during your first use.

Your grips should be used with a wristband to prevent chafing from the leather.

First use

If the holes for the middle and ring fingers aren’t large enough, we recommend sanding down the edges of the holes with a piece of sandpaper so the integrity of the leather is not damaged.
We do not recommend using scissors.

As you continue to use your grips for training, the leather will soften to hug the shape of your hands.

What’s next!

Our leather was lab-tested using mechanical tests for stretch and resistance to tearing.
Our grips were then tested over time in partnership with 4 clubs and 3 national and international gymnastics organizations. The gymnasts’ demanding training allowed us to perfect and validate the technical quality of our grips to perfectly meet our users’ needs.

How does this mat encourage your child's psychomotor development?

Children under the age of 4 must learn how to control their body and move in any given direction by slowly waddling forward on 2 feet.
At 4 years old, a child can walk, putting one foot in front of the other, on a path measuring at least a foot and a half wide.

Children's psychomotor development is dependent on genetic, motor, and psychological factors.
A product can impact their psychomotor development if it targets their motor development.
Motor development has several major components: body schema, dynamic coordination, balance, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and spatio-temporal structure.

Psychomotor development:

The body schema is a representation of how children view their bodies. It gives them refined control of their movements, a perception of their body, and, more generally, self-awareness. It is built around experiences and actions ("body feels, body moves") before being represented and discussed ("body represented," draw-a-person test).
Every time children move, they refine their body schema and increase their chances of moving better in the future.

Hand-eye coordination includes actions that help them aim with all or part of their body. Youngsters develop this skill by mapping a path and then using their hands and feet to aim large objects at large targets. Then the objects and targets get smaller and smaller until children have excellent finger isolation: piano playing, beading, writing.

The body map refers to a child’s perception of their body, which allows them to refine their movements and develop self-awareness. It develops based on sensations and actions before being represented and described. The more a child moves, the more they refine their body map, and the more accurately they’re able to move.
