UV protection standards for hats are very specific: The fabric must be anti-UV (UPF index greater than 50), but this isn’t enough to claim that the finished product is anti-UV. The hat must also have a wide brim and flap that fully protects the face and the back of the neck.

What criteria must a hat meet to qualify as anti-UV?

Polyamide offers excellent abrasion and tear resistance. Micro-organisms and mould don’t like the synthetic fibre!

How is polyamide more resistant?

The product is machine washed 3 times, then line dried. Next, we immerse it in water and measure how long it takes to get back to its pre-wash weight.
This hat scored an impressive 5 out of 5 stars, getting back to its pre-washed weight in less than 80 minutes.
