The fabric of this Olaian anti-UV product blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays (UPF 50+), guaranteeing effective protection from the sun. Ideal for water sports, it can be worn in or out of the water. The density of the textile fibres filters out UV rays for long-lasting protection, even after washing. 

UV protection even when wet

UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) is an international standard that measures  the proportion of UV rays a fabric lets through to your skin.
A UPF of 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays.

What does UPF 50+ mean?

These leggings help reduce chafing, especially around the knees and inner thighs when you’re lying down or sitting on a surfboard. We have confirmed that irritation was indeed limited during 2-hour sessions. 

The fitted waistband helps the leggings stay in place even when you fall into the waves. The cord at the front of the waistband is designed to be tied to a UV-protection T-shirt to keep it from riding up. We recommend pairing these leggings with a 500 UV-protection T-shirt (available in short- and long-sleeved styles) for maximum protection. 

Stable in waves

The minimum water temperature recommended for the use of these anti-UV leggings is 21°C. Air temperature may affect this recommendation.
Our thermal models are made of fleece, neoprene, or both. We recommend choosing a model made with neoprene if you’ll be out in conditions where the wind exceeds 15 km/h.

Warmth and wind

Our anti-UV leggings are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. They’re compatible with many other water sports, including swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and stand-up paddle boarding.

Suitable for multiple water sports

Young skin is very sensitive to the sun, particularly before age 3. UV rays are two to three times more harmful to children than to adults, so it’s essential that kids wear proper sun protection.

Kids and UV rays

Anti-UV leggings are a smart choice, but they don’t provide complete sun protection. It’s essential to consider other factors, such as reflections (off sand, water, etc.), temperature, and time of day, when you’re out in the sun. For example, you should also wear a UV-protection top, sunglasses, and a hat or cap, plus regularly apply sunscreen and drink water.
