We have incorporated a wadding lining and very soft and warm fleece into these pants. The synthetic fibres of the fleece are as effective as wool (warmth, thermal insulation) while being more lightweight. It is soft, comfortable, dries quickly and lets the skin breathe. The fleece component traps the air through the volume created by its texture to keep the body warm with its naturally insulating power.

How will these pants keep your child warm?

These pants already have wadding and fleece lining. You therefore don't need to add tights, which could make your child sweat and which will then make them cold.

Should you get your child to wear tights under their pants?

We have integrated gaiters at the cuffs of the legs to prevent any snow getting in. In addition, by positioning the elastic at the bottom of the gaiters around your child's shoe or boot, the pants will not ride up.

Do the pants have gaiters to prevent snow from getting in at the ankles?

Your pants are designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind (before washing: 5,000 mm H²O (Schmerbers) for the main component. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet).

How do my pants protect me from outdoor conditions?

The waterproofing of a fabric is measured in Schmerbers or H²O mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. 

This jacket has a waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard) resistant to 5,000 mm H²O (Schmerbers) before washing.

How can I be sure that my pants are 100% waterproof?

For the comfort of your little ones and your peace of mind, the seams of these pants are waterproof. 
They are totally waterproof. We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a two-hour shower. 
The seams of a garment are watertight thanks to waterproof and heat-sealed strips. These are placed behind the seams to make the garment waterproof by stopping water from getting inside by capillary action.

In winter, it is important to be protected from both moisture (snow, rain) and wind, because the latter can significantly cool the body, regardless of whether you are physically active or standing still. 
Thanks to their waterproof coating, these pants have the technical characteristics to be certified windproof.

Thanks to these reinforced fabric inserts on the knees and seat of these pants, children can go and explore the world freely. We conduct abrasion and friction resistance tests on the various components to ensure their effectiveness.
The abrasion resistance of a fabric is measured by a test called the Martindale test. This machine rubs a sample of the fabric on a reference surface with a weight at the end.

Will these pants withstand the intensity of your child's activities?

To be properly dressed in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle: 
Layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.
Layer 2: Fleece provides warmth and wicks away moisture.
Layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind. 
The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.

How do I choose the right kids’ clothing for snow hiking?

To regenerate the water-repellent properties of the fabric and optimise the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime, use a waterproofing spray or liquid at each machine wash.

The “ball fibre” filling is a good alternative to feathers:
- The fibres trap a lot of air, providing insulation from the cold.
- It provides good thermal insulation even when wet.
- Easy to care for: can be machine-washed, ideally with tennis balls as for a pillow so that the wadding remains well distributed.
If not, you will have to shake the jacket to distribute it well.

The benefits of “ball fibre” synthetic filling 

Water repellency is achieved by applying a treatment to prevent water from absorbing into the fabric. 
Water rolls off without being absorbed so the garment remains light, breathable, and warm. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof.
The treatment should be reapplied to remain effective. Use sprays that are applied to the outside, rather than additives used when washing the garment, which can damage the product's breathability.

Pull’n Fit zipper design

Thermal insulation will keep your young skiers at just the right temperature. This garment adapts to the body’s movements and to the outside environment. Wedze uses wadding for insulation to keep the body warm. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester that stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. So the thicker the wadding, the more air it contains and the warmer it is.

Thermal insulation

The waterproof coating is applied on the inside of the bib pants’ outer fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows perspiration to escape. This keeps kids dry and comfortable.

Coating

In addition to the waterproof fabric, the waterproofness of these bib pants is reinforced with taped seams. Waterproof adhesive strips taped to the inside seams make this ski suit perfectly watertight.   These taped seams are in the areas most exposed to snow. On these bib pants, this means the seat area.

How can I be sure that my child’s feet will stay warm?

The boot’s vamp (low, thermoplastic part) is snowproof. To make the entire boot waterproof, pull the bottom of the snowsuit or ski pants over the top of the boot. A hook under the sole helps you to position the elastic gaiter on the pants or snowsuit to provide a good seal and keep the snow out.

How can I be sure that my child’s feet will stay dry in the snow?

These boots were designed to fit a child wearing thick ski socks without compressing the foot and therefore encouraging thermal protection.

How to choose the right size

These winter boots have been specially designed so that they are extremely easy to put on your child. 
The uppers in sizes 3C/3.5C and 4.5C/5C are open on both sides and can be fully turned back to provide a wide opening for your child’s foot. 
Sizes 6C/7C and 7.5C/8.5C are open on one side. A strap on top of the upper lets your little one try and put the boot on all on their own.

Why do these boots have large openings and straps on top?

Traction depends on the number and size of lugs (3 mm on this boot). The grip depends on the sole materials and the tread pattern, like car tires. Traction optimizes propulsion, prevents slipping when going uphill, and stabilizes the boots.
Grip prevents the boots from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in difficult conditions (rain, snow, ice).
