The sidecut corresponds to the mm width of the tip, waist, and tail.

As for the curve radius, the smaller it is, the less the ski will turn (small turns).
The bigger the curve radius, the more the ski will turn.

- Radius XTR 156 cm = 11.1 m (36.4’) for very short turns.
- Radius STR 161 cm = 11.9 m (39’) for medium to long turns.

Sidecut

When placed on the ground, the ski’s points of contact are near the tip and tail, while the waist (under the bindings) is slightly raised. This is the camber. The longer and higher the camber, the greater the edge grip, and the more responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more forgiving the ski and the better the handling.

What is the rocker?

On a rocker ski, the tip and sometimes the heel come off the ground sooner than with a cambered ski: this moves the contact points toward the centre of the ski. The ski has less contact with the snow, offering added manoeuvrability and lift in soft snow. When leaning into turns, the edge length offers more grip on hard snow. A longer rocker improves the way the skis handle.

What is a rocker?

After a long day of skiing, this is what you should do to prolong your ski’s life:
* Wipe your edges with a cloth to prevent rusting.
* Use ski ties to prevent the bases from rubbing against each other.
* Store your skis in a dry place, away from sunlight.
