The Classic 150 boot has a low top with a flexible sole to let the foot roll through properly, providing excellent freedom of movement.

The size of a cross-country ski is chosen according to your level of ability and weight rather than your height.

For the 500 ski with ski skins: 
- 55 to 65 kg (121 to 143 lb) = 181 cm
- 60 to 70 kg (132 to 154 lb) = 188 cm
- 65 to 75 kg (143 to 165 lb) = 195 cm
- 75 to 90 kg (165 to 198 lb) = 202 cm
- 85 to 100 kg (187 to 220 lb) = 207 cm


If you’re between two sizes: 
- For more comfort, choose the smaller size to ensure manoeuvrability.
- For more intensive use, choose the larger size.

How do you choose the right size?

Grip refers to the area located in the centre of the base, on the underside of the ski.
It provides the "grip" needed to avoid slipping in uphill sections while delivering smooth glide performance on flat or descending terrain.
There are 3 grip systems:fish scales, grip wax, or skins.

The Ski 500 is equipped with a 100% mohair skin grip
The ski skins provide the same quality of grip as fish-scale bases but they have the advantage of not making any noise and do not require waxing. 

Skin grip simplicity

All our skis are equipped with Rottefella bindings compatible with NNN, Prolink, and Turnamic standards.
The 500 classic cross-country skis are equipped with classic Rottefella Performance bindings, which are better suited to experienced skiers.
The binding can be moved forwards or backwards to your preferred position using the key provided: For more grip, move the binding forward. For better glide performance, move the binding backward.

The base is the part of the ski in contact with the snow. It is made of polyethylene (HDPE), which can be extruded or sintered during the manufacturing process.

The base of the ski is in sintered PEhd, made from a plastic powder with high molecular weight, heated, compressed and cut into slabs.
This process produces a more dense base and delivers superior glide performance and durability.

We recommend waxing the underside of new skis for optimal glide. Several consecutive waxes are best to build up a proper base. 

To keep skis in top performing condition, remember to wax them regularly!
