The volume of each backpack uses a standardized measuring method: the main compartment and all the pockets are filled with little balls. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container to determine the equivalent volume in litres.The main bag’s volume is 23 L (6 gal). 
We also measured the volume including the 2 water bottle outer side pockets. The total capacity is 25 L (6.6 gal).
