The high density of the fleece fabric is able to trap maximum air. 
The result is that the layer of air acts as insulation to keep you warm. Added to this are the windproof effect, the cuffs, and the hood to prevent snow from getting in. You won’t get cold.

A fleece that keeps you warm?

Thanks to the side inserts and the back opening, this fleece ensures excellent moisture transfer and keeps you dry during exercise. The quick-drying polyester, with a RET of 2, optimizes perspiration wicking while providing thermal insulation.

A breathable fleece: What are the benefits?

The breathability of a fabric is measured by its evaporative resistance RET (ISO 11092 standard): The lower it is, the more breathable the fabric. Examples: RET< 9 (very breathable), 9 < RET < 12 (breathable), RET > 20 (low breathability).
This fleece jacket has a RET of 2.

What is the RET index?

Remember, water-repellent doesn’t mean waterproof. In light rain, water slides off a water-repellent fabric without being absorbed. The fabric therefore remains light and breathable. On this fleece, the hood, shoulders, and sleeves are water-repellent. Perfect for keeping your upper body dry.

Why is my jacket water-repellent?

To reactivate the water-repellent properties of your fleece, apply a water repellency reactivator spray (ref. 8800346). Spray it evenly and spread it using a clean cloth. After a few hours of drying, your garment is ready for new outdoor adventures!

Restoring water repellency

To keep your personal belongings handy, this fleece has two zippered pockets. 
The hood can also be stored in a specially designed pocket. 

Pockets for storing your belongings and a foldaway hood?

To clean your fleece jacket in a washing machine, select a synthetic cycle at 30°C. Turn it inside out and make sure the pockets are zipped up. Limit the spin cycle to 1000 rpm to avoid damaging the fabric. Do not tumble dry.

Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. The garment should be retreated over its lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products for this purpose (spray or liquid) are available in our stores.

What is water repellency and how can you maintain it?

The inside fabric is brushed—a tried-and-tested method for retaining heat. The principle is simple: the knit component is designed to trap air, which acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. Animal fur and feathers work on exactly the same principle. 

How can I be sure that these pants are warm enough for winter hiking?

The slim fit and stretchy fabric provide essential freedom of movement. The zipped pockets keep personal items secure (tissues, lip balm, keys, etc.).

In winter, protection from both moisture (snow, rain) and wind is important, because wind can significantly cool the body. The windproof, water-repellent outer fabric was designed to handle all winter conditions. We also added attachments to keep moisture out.

How do these pants protect from outdoor conditions?

Whatever your cold-weather activity, use the three-layer technique:
Layer 1: A high-tech base layer to wick moisture away from the body and keep your skin dry.
 Layer 2: A fleece jacket or sweater to provide warmth and transfer moisture outward.
 Layer 3: A jacket to protect against the elements (rain, snow, and wind). 
To eliminate moisture, the whole outfit must be breathable.

How to dress properly for hiking in cold weather

Durability tests are conducted on selected components: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, and colourfastness. All these tests were conducted on the pant material.

Thanks to its natural properties, this breathable fibre provides very good moisture management and good temperature regulation while reducing odours.
These specially textured, super-soft yarns give the fabric a silky, natural feel. Ideal for tight, seamless clothing.

Thanks to its bodymapping technology and brushed polyamide fibre created with I-Soft technology, this second skin will evenly distribute body heat.

The I-Soft technology enhances the fabric’s performance, providing a variety of benefits: soft, feeling of warmth, comfort on the skin. It also increases product performance with better thermoregulation, moisture wicking, and thermal insulation. To achieve this softness, the base layer is brushed.

What is I-Soft technology?

The innovative I-Band technology at the waist means the fabric stays in place and does not ride up. Also, the top and bottom of our I-Soft tops are equipped with this technology so you can focus on your sport.

What is I-Band technology?

You only need three technical layers to stay warm on the slopes: Layer 1 or a base layer, to stay dry. - Layer 2, an insulating layer to keep the heat in. Layer 3 or a protective layer, to protect against bad weather.

The waterproof rating depends on two key criteria: component and construction. 
This product was made with a membrane.
The membrane is a kind of very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof and breathable. 
It is flexible, lightweight, and breathable.

3-layer design: The membrane is glued between the outer and inner fabric. We use it for durable, high-performing jackets.

Layer design

Laboratory tests are conducted to guarantee the waterproof rating of a component. The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm.
The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. 
This product’s component has a 20,000 mm waterproof rating and can withstand the pressure of a 20,000 mm water column. 
This is equivalent to 20,000 Schmerber.

We conduct laboratory tests that simulate rainfall to guarantee the jacket’s waterproof rating. 
This product was validated in a shower test under 18 cm of rain for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a mountain storm.

This allows perspiration to escape during physical activity, preventing it from accumulating on the skin. 
The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.

A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off its surface without being absorbed. Because the fabric doesn’t soak up water, it remains lightweight and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment needs to be reapplied throughout the product’s lifetime. Water repellency can be reactivated by putting the item in the dryer for 10 minutes on low heat.
You can also use a waterproofing spray (ref.: 8554908).
