Design details

Water resistance
We measure the fabric resistance to water pressure in mm of water column (based on the JIS standard). The higher the water pressure a fabric can withstand, the more waterproof it is. Waterproofing ratings: Component resistant to water pressure of 5,000 mm before and after ageing (5 washes). This equates to 5,000 Schmerber average pressure exerted by the water during rain. The jacket’s waterproofing has been tested in a rain shower with 60 litres of water/m²/h for 2 hours.

Breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporate resistance or RET (ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric’s resistance, the more moisture is evaporated, and therefore the higher the fabric’s breathability. For example: RET < 9 = very breathable, RET 9–12 = breathable. This jacket has two components with the following RET values: > more resistant fabric: RET < 12 (or 3621 g/m²/24 h, JIS1099A standard) Lighter fabric: RET < 8 (or 2972 g/m²/2
Hood
The hood is attached and doesn’t stow into the collar. Its depth is adjustable. Regulations prohibit the addition of a drawstring on the collar. The hood visor and headband provide good coverage and a better hold. The high collar protects the neck.
Pockets
2 zip pockets on the front of the jacket for your hands or a few items Pockets are not waterproof.
Front zip
A zip on the entire jacket length with an interior flap protects against the wind and water. Soft fabric flap on the top of the collar to protect the chin.
Water repellency
A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off the surface of the fabric, without seeping in. Your jacket does not become waterlogged and remains lightweight and breathable. The water-repellent treatment applied to the external side of the fabric may alter over time.
Washing the jacket
Close all zips and flaps, empty all pockets, and turn the jacket inside out. Select a synthetics cycle (30°C–40°C) and use regular detergent. Don’t use fabric softener or bleach, as these can damage the water-repellent coating. Don’t fold your garment too much when you place it in the washing machine. Do not overload. Very important: Run a full rinse cycle or extra rinse to remove all detergent residue.
How to reactivate the jacket’s water repellency
Drying is a crucial phase in reactivating the water repellent treatment. First, lay the garment flat on a drying rack. The radiator? Forget it! Once dry, put it in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle (10–15 minutes), then turn it right side out. Do not over-dry.
