How to use the SH 100 Easy Snowshoes
Before putting them on: There is a left and right snowshoe. Check you have the correct snowshoe on each foot. The hook and loop tab straps must be closed outward. Adjustable: Snowshoes must be properly adjusted to ensure your safety. 1/ Your feet must reach the front end to optimize shoe support. 2/ The 3 hook and loop tab straps must be fully tightened.
Choose snowshoes according to your weight:
Choose snowshoes based on the wearer’s weight (including the weight of their backpack) so they remain on the surface of the snow. This is known as lift. Different snowshoe sizes are available for various user weights and hiking practices. Our advice for the SH 100 Easy Snowshoes: 40 to 75 kg (88–165 lb.): medium deck, size M. 60 to 90 kg (132–198 lb.): large deck, size L.

Size M Width: 19 cm (7.4”). Length: 48 cm (18.9”). Size L Width: 20 cm (7.9”). Length: 56 cm (22”).
Using poles for increased stability when snowshoeing
We strongly recommend using poles for better stability when snowshoeing, especially if you intend to walk on slopes (uphill, downhill, etc.) or on powder snow. There are 2 types of baskets. Choose large baskets so the polls remain on the surface.
Choose breathable clothing for snowshoeing
We tend to overdress when hiking in the snow because of the cold. However, once you get moving, you will warm up very quickly. Use the three-layer technique. This technique lets you stay comfortable whatever your level of intensity: remove clothing when it is warm and put it back on when it is colder or during breaks. If you are too hot, you will sweat more, which will cool you down during breaks or when hiking downhill.
Dress using the three-layer technique
Whatever your cold-weather activity, use the three-layer technique: Layer 1: A high-tech base layer to wick moisture away from the body and keep your skin dry. Layer 2: A fleece jacket or sweater to provide warmth and transfer moisture outward. Layer 3: A jacket to protect against the elements (rain, snow, and wind). To eliminate moisture, the whole outfit must be breathable.
What kind of shoes should I wear?
For snowshoeing, you need warm, waterproof, and breathable high-top hiking shoes. Choose shoes with grip for areas where you will remove your snowshoes (in the parking lot or if there is not enough snow).
Safety first!
For off-piste hiking, make sure you are equipped with maps, a compass and/or GPS, an Avalanche Victim Detector, a shovel, and a probe. This equipment allows you to be found if you are caught in an avalanche, or to search for a victim. Do not forget to review your safety basics.
Is it possible to repair my SH 100 Easy Snowshoes if I break a binding or lose the metal tips?
